Let's be real the fact that I have 7000 hours and are only just now leaving a review must be testament to how all consuming this game is.

If you are looking to buy this game it is very likely that you have either watched a streamer or a youtuber and thought wow this game looks crazy fun and it is. What most of the videos do not show you is just how unrelenting and brutal this game can be especially when you are new.

If you are expecting to load in and start killing everyone and getting mad loot then I am here to offer a reality check. There is a tonne to learn in this game and an endless source of fun to be had. But it is a loooooong learning curve.

Tips to help

1. Find a group to learn with or convince a few friends to get it with you. If this is not an option then starting on solo only servers and dead servers 10 pop or less is paramount to learning the game, there is also the PVE server choice but tbh you need to get used to dying early on so I do not recommend.

2. Wipe day (first thursday of each month or each subsequent thursday)(there is also monday wipes bi weekly wipes and lot's of other options suitable for everyone) is literally the most exciting and most brutal experience anyone can ever endure, especially solo. If you are new I would avoid this like the plague.

3. There is so much to learn, monuments, tech trees, PVP, PVE bots and puzzles. I highly recommend tackling each of these one by one. each wipe you play build near a new monument, learn it, watch guides get comfortable. once you feel like you own the place then time to get uncomfortable again.

4. Stay off Twitter (X). It may feel like a good source of information but it is mostly just a whining ground for people that have been playing the same game for 10 years and are butt hurt that it has changed. The fact that the game recieves monthly updates and care from their dev teams is a priveledge and something that not many other gamers get to enjoy.

5. Gamer Words are more frequent on busy servers so muting chat and voices are the best way to go to avoid any younger people being subjected to a month/week long MW2" lobby from the days of old.

6. Don't take it too seriously, It's only game

7. Keep an eye out for twitch rivals events along with other creator made events that you can normally watch on twitch to receive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to your account.

8. Come leave a comment after you have 500 hours and tell me about the 22 people you killed ;)
