This is an excellent game I recommend playing without first reading the entirety of this review. Do check out the list of content warnings on the developers website though as this game contains imagery and discusses topics not suitable for all gamers without care and preparation.

What if Outer Wilds was a narrative adventure game where the narrator was a pushy jerk? Do you like birds and allegories? What about mirrors, broken, and whole? How do you feel about endless possibility? Would you let the infinite possibility of the world flourish, and die, to let that which cannot be imagined be birthed anew in its withering corpse? Or would you prefer to freeze all that is exactly how you believe it to be? Do you frequently find yourself waffling over the answer to even simple decisions? This game might be for you. Even if you answered: “What the hell are you talking about?” To any of these questions. I hope it makes you cry, laugh, or just feel something. It’s a lovely piece of art that I’m glad I’ve spent even this small amount of time with. I dearly look forward to exploring it further.

Brutal and unforgiving at times, but extremely satisfying to play.

If you like spending 7 hours nurturing a single settler into a mighty empire that spans multiple continents, this is the game for you. Nothing quite like convincing the city-states of the world that your religion, "Ebola," is the one for them.
