Update 11/28/2018:
In my original review I mentioned that this software ultimately didn't work out for me because it wasn't keeping up with my moving to various locations with my laptop. I'm happy to say that, after a new try and some additional tweaking, this is actually working out pretty good.

The answer was ultimately, as Keith suggested in his reply to my review, monitor profiles. In my first attempts I had actually set up monitor profiles. They weren't quite working right for me, though. I had trouble with monitors getting erroneously switched to portrait view and other oddities. I started fresh and had some of the same issues. But after going back into the profiles and explicitly stating which monitors should be portrait and which should be landscape, that issue went away.

The other issue I had was the hotkeys for loading profiles weren't working. Turns out this is because I was including the WIN key in the shortcut, and Windows just wasn't letting it register correctly. Removing the WIN key from the shortcut allowed it to work as expected.

In the end this software ended up working out great. Thank you to Keith Lammers and the rest of their support team for helping me work out the tweaks necessary to get this working in my multi-location multi-monitor setups.

Original Review Below:
----------------------------------

This product gets a lot of great reviews; I wish I could be one of them.

I use my laptop at home and at work using mirror setups in both locations. I have the same dual monitors and peripherals at each place, including one monitor that is an ultrawide. Was hoping to use this software to split the ultrawide up as well as have the second monitor vertical with a vertical split.

When I initially set up DisplayFusion it works fantastic. Windows snap to each region perfectly, the taskbars are exactly how I want them, etc. However, when I take my laptop to the other location everything falls apart. I even created completely separate profiles for each location with their own settings (even though they're the same settings). Taskbars randomly disappear and the vertical regions never stay in place at all. I've tried this one two different laptops now and get the same frustrating results.

Conclusion: I do think this is great software if you're using it to split your screens on a device that stays in one location. My experience using this on a laptop I use at work and home has not been good.

Using different monitor profiles should work for this scenario. If you're interested in troubleshooting further, please contact us at the page below and we'll be glad to help out: https://www.displayfusion.com/Support/#contact

Thank you for the reply, Keith - much appreciated! I did try using profiles, but I am willing to give them another go and see if it was just something I was doing incorrectly. I'll get it set up again and will contact support when I run into a wall. Thanks again.
