Metaphor Refantazio is ultimately one great celebration of fantasy as a concept. When i started out on the game, i was super excited to see more of atlus's works after playing through persona 3, 4 and 5. And Ultimately, i think, it took the elements from persona (as in gameplay mechanics) and made it better and less annoying to deal with, such as the current progress in social stats, turning into MAG if its maxed, follower bonds dont rely on a progression system. DONT GET ME WRONG! i absolutely love persona, and i think both are amazing in their own ways and are not really story comparable.

I love the combat system so much for a number of reasons, Firstly, turn icons. i think the turn icons are something i genuinely needed because i loved when i just dodged the enemies's attacks and it just ended their turn, plus the passing system and the row formation (which i didnt use much, but it was fun to know that i could reduce damage in a hard fight). The Turn icons also introduced a new mechanic for me, synthesis, which was probably the most fun i have had in a turn based combat system, my favorite synthesis was Deadly eraser, which was just way too overpowered and really funny. Speaking of synthesis, the synthesis can only work if the right archetypes are being used.
Archetypes are probably my favorite power system in a jrpg game, the way they look is so... grand and epic. I loved how every character had their own little color pallete for the archetypes. One of the most useful archetypes was Thief, which had the skill of plunder magic, so if i ever ran out of MP, i would just give everyone in my party plunder magic with the skill inheritance system, and recover all MP. Also the little fact that each and every party member could change their archetype, and wepaon with it was so cool to me, especially how they still kept their body posture, not losing their personality was so fire.
Every single character was so good, i genuinely can not think of one singular significant annoying or frustrating character. I thought that gallica would become kind of annoying due to my previous experiences with morgana, but she was not annoying at all, and actually really cool (except for the times when she just repeated her voice lines about treasures or doors being nearby in dungeons) All of the follower plotlines were so well written, My favorites are Heismay, Alonzo, and Maria. Briggita's bond was so good, with probably one of the best character developments. I really wish there was a way to romance, because i absolutely adored Eupha. Catherina's bond skills were insanely useful for my fight against the dragons (yes i did the elegy of the soul). I gneuinely can not think of one band plotline even while writing this, since all of them were unique int heir own ways and went completely different paths. Even side characters that didnt get a bond were fire, for example, my GOAT, batlin. loved that guy. loved his character as a whole, i wish there was a bond for him, but seeing all the characters, i figured adding another bond would kinda mess up a completionist, especially with all the requests as well. And some others were Fabienne, Rella and believe it or not.... Gideaux. I think his character development is so good, him not being able to find any meaning in sanctism after both rella and forden died, and finding out the truths. But he still kept on going and still pursued sanctism and improve it.
Speaking of Rella, her character design is probably my favorite out of all the characters in the game. The twists with her was just insane, and i never saw it coming. But looking back on it, she does drop a ton of hints, which is insane. Forden was (as many would agree) very... rage-inducing. i won't go much indepth about his character as i hate him so much i would probably say not very nice things.
Now, lets speak of the most important Character. The man himself, Louise Guiabern. Probably my second favorite Villain out of every game i have played. I was so scared that he would just be one of those edgy villains with a revenge motivation, but as he clarified himself, he doesnt seek revenge necessarily. When he first came on the screen, i felt absolutely.... Mogged, bro is just way too pretty and fabulous. I liked how he was always just one step ahead of all of us, until the very end, but the thing that bought him down was... there were no steps to take anymore, and that he didnt really have any friends to take the steps with... I guess Zorba exists, who had a really sick character design, but kinda edgy for my likings ( i still liked the design) but it was more of a master - follower relationship. And the End of Louise, was his own ideals, as said by basilio, him becoming human. Speaking of Louise and his followers, Let us talk about... Fidelio and Basilio. The best brother dynamic i have seen in a game. And Basilio's awakening was my favorite awakening, how he dedicated it to his brother who died by Louise. Its all so emotional. The Charadius Dungeon was also one of my favorites, as it was themed around sneaking around, which reminded me of persoan 5. My least favorite dungeon is probably Eht Ria's. NOt because its bad per se... but because it was too big and had like 2 magla hollows.
The Dungeons in the games were so well designed, especially how the monsters were placed, it genuinely felt like those dungeons had life before i came in and destroyed it all. Felt like an ecosystem. And i loved how some dungeons were necessary to progress neuras's bond, with the use of relics, which motivated exploration. Being the completionist i am, i never exited a dungeon until i killed atleast all enemies once, found all chest and collectibles and explored all of the map. The bosses in the dungeons were honestly easier than the monsters themsleves, as i could just use all my MP skills without a care in the world.
Now lets talk about the Story. Absolute PEAK i say. I always used to absolutely love any form of fantasy, be it story books, anime, shows, movies or games. And this game just reminded me of how much i genuinely enjoy reading those and how much it has affected me as a person. I love how metaphor refantazio, despite looking like medieval ages is actually the future of our current world, evolved through magla. The elda races being descendants of us humans is so fire. The fact that our world went into a war for magic, and the human desire to crave divisions. That human nature exists in all, no matter how morally good you are, you will always crave division. Overall, the story was absolutely insane, and i loved how it ended aswell, with the main protagonist finding out its a fantasy, but still not caring. Also, after he became the king, i liked how the game still shows that there are still problems and a lot of doubts existing in the world, just because you became the king does not mean everything is fine. Also one really cool foreshadowing was the fact that the prince doesn't really have a name in the game. I once considered searching his name up before the twist but i am so glad i did not, because it turned out that the prince is just the main character, which was... so insane.

overall, this is one of the best experiences i have had in playing a game and most fun too. i would genuinely love to thank every single person who made this game.

The game concept is really good, i loved the art style and the music a lot, but the player controls are kind of frustrating, especially the drifting mechanics, it almost feels like you arent drifting at all, and sometimes you jump, and you fly across the map. Other than the movement controls, i like the game itself

"People can get all caught up in what others have to say, and wind up forgetting what they have to say for themselves. At the same time, just a few words can end up being a lifeline to somebody too.
I love the Phantom thieves of hearts, for making me feel like a part of them, and i will forever be indebted to them to make me realize something and make me turn my life around."
