A Flipping Good Time

OlliOlli World is one of those games that is easy to play but difficult to master. It's not too difficult to get through the main campaign but if you want to keep a combo through the whole level, and kickflip, spin in the air, switchgrind, and grab your way through with all the style in the world, you're going to have to master the games mechanics. Luckily the game does a great job of introducing the concepts and techniques needed to do so at a steady pace, always teaching you something new while not overwhelming the player. At the beginning I could barely kickflip consistently but by the end I felt like Tony Hawk himself.

The level design is absolutely top notch, constantly introducing new obstacles like grind rails and walls to ride off. Every level has bonus challenges and scores to beat as well as different paths adding tons of replayability to the game and levels. You really do feel like an absolute badass going through some of the later levels, and the different backgrounds keep the game feeling fresh, with each area having a distinct feel in not only presentation but level design as well.

The 2 dlc packs are great, each adding a new mechanic and a good chunk of levels, each coming with additional challenges. They're consistently challenging and an absolute joy to play through. OlliOlli World is one of the most fun platformers I've played, and provides the player with a plethora of tricks, and combos to skate through each lovingly crafted level with. At $20 it's an absolute steal, especially if you're someone who enjoys going after additional challenges and mastering all the tools the game has in order to get a high score.
