This game is a little complicated im having a hard time rating if i like it or not i have nearly 2.5k hours. Most of these hours are farming or standing AFK because you cant she ♥♥♥♥♥ during the night and it is night for like 8 minutes. But the hours when you pvp, fight and raid kinda makes it up cuz its fun af.

It is also very addictive ill give you some examples:

Rust ♥♥♥♥♥ up my social life and my grades in school. It kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ things up for me. I could not find time to study because it was always something more fun you could do like farm die or play guitar. If you are gonna buy this game you need to make sure you can't get addicted or you atleast have enough spare time.

When you join a server in rust you have nothing but a stone and a torch and then to you have to farm up and get better stuffs but you are going to die most of the times and start over especially as a solo player. When you are a solo player it is gonna be big booii clans like 20 ppl deep doorcamping you 24/7.

Another thing the community is the most toxic substance on the earth its f cking worse than a shot of uranium straight into the heart. Almost every wipe you play you are going to get doorcamped, roofcamped, gangbanged, called trash or if you are too good you are hacker. That is another thing to avoid this you need a extreme amount of hours in this game too be able to kill a supperior enemy you need a lot of hours to get good at rust you need at least like 5k hours and probably more. But it is always some non-toxic ppl on the servers that is how i got most of my "friends" and i still play with them i have known some over like 5 years now because of this game. Just watch out a few of this guys will betray you a while later.



How to play

I'll do this in steps.

1. Buy rust

2. Open it up and join a server.

it is gonna be a few different tabs labled

Official: and that is pure vanilla servers without any mods.
Community: It is basically a mix of all servers modded and without mods also recommended for new players
Mods: Here you can find modded server with like 10x farming. recommended for new players

3. The loading times are kinda messed up without and ssd so you might want to do soome pc upgrades before you buy rust but lets say you made i trough the loading times and are now in the first thing you will se is you sleeping on the beach with only a rock and a torch.

4. Now you should run to a tree and hit it with the rock to get wood. you need wood for tools and to make a bow and base fire the furnaces and everything. You also need to find a stone node the stones are different colored in rust the node that give you stone is grey. The node that gives you metal is a weird color of brown kinda and the node that gives you sulfur is yellow grey.

5. Now when you have wood and stone you can press tab or q to open the crafting menu and make a stone pickaxe and a stone hatchet. This will make you farming easier. farm some more.

6. Now you should try to find some weed 420 looollz nah but find cloth you get by pressing e on the marijuana looking plant. when you have 50 of that and 200 wood you can make a bow and you also need some arrows and for that you need stone and wood also.

7. Now you are ready to kill others. The first thing you should do is to find animals you kill them and harvest them to get stuffs to make lowgrade and with that make furnaces you also get food and leather to make clothes.

8. Now when you have killed an animal you got some animal fat and with that and some cloth you can make lowgrade and with 50 lowgrade and some stone and wood you can make a furnace.

9. Finding a spot to live as a solo i would suggest living close to tier one monuments like the supermarkets harbours and if you wanna be risky dome or water treatment the choise is of course yours

10. Build base to make a base you need to make a building plan with wood and a hammer with wood. You also need a toolcupboard to prevent others from griefing you or building on your base. To build the base you need to take the building plan in your hand and place a floor down and then you can right click while holding the building plan to make other stucture shapes aswell. When you have placed out your base it is not gonna be very safe because its made of twig so you need to grab your hammer to either upgrade it to stone or wood. You also need to place a sleeping bag down that is your way of respawning in your base. you make it with cloth.

11. Components and scrap
This is very important to be able to do anything like research and item and be able to craft it you need scrap to craft items you need to make workbences. there are 3 different workbenches lvl 1 lvl 2 lvl 3. Lets say you want to make a revolver then you first need it researched and then you need a lvl 1 workbench and you need 1 metal pipe 25 cloth and 125 metal frags.

As i said you need a lot of hours to get good stuffs not just rust but in life generally but rust is probably one of the hardest games out there when you start with a damn rock and you are supposed to get guns and kill others and while doing that watch out to not get killed by big clans. This can seem hard and it is but as long you play it safe you should be fine. but rust is such a big game a lot of stuffs to do and thing are getting added every month only to master taking oilrigs takes a long time. Another fun thing is the adrennaline rushes when you raid defence and kill ak guy with doubble barrels
