Having not played the original game i didn't know what to expect from this game and all i really have to say is...

This game is fantastic, seriously, there wasn't a single aspect from the game itself that i disliked, the music, graphics, bosses, animations and difficulty all were superb. I had a lot of fun with this game to the point that i had a big grin on my face as i was playing it.

Only downside; the game is about 2 hours long and possibly less if you get as little collectibles as possible, even though you can squeeze a couple more hours off it if you aim for 100% completion, but aside from that it's an amazing game.

Oozi is a colorful platformer with really repetitive and generic music; not saying that it is particularly bad, it's just generic kids tv show background music, Toki Tori was guilty of this too.

The controls are fine, it's not as polished as other platformers but it's understandable

The game has multiple difficulties which aside from taking/giving you more health don't particularly change the game, which isn't really difficult to begin with

It has a nice little feature of being able to see other players ghosts to lead the way which makes the game even easier and makes the discovery of "Secret Stars" somewhat redundant, but at least it's innovative

Something that made me stop playing the game was the fact that the "Difficulty" came from 1 hit kill enemies and some cheap deaths here and there, and yeah the game promises "Old school gameplay" and it does deliver in that regard and i wouldn't have mind the cheapness that much but there's so many sections where you're forced to wait and slowly advance in between 1 hit kill enemies that have extremelly predictable patterns just so you can progress which ruins the pacing of the game and makes it a chore.

Also every single Secret Star of the first world has these snails that run towards you really fast and then suicide, was that really necessary?, It just makes collecting stuff annoying which was my favorite thing of the game, running around collecting stars on the maze like stages was fun, but everything else made me stop enjoying it.

Given that there are so much better platformer games on steam right now (Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Rayman, just to name a few) i don't see any reason to play Oozi, maybe there's some amazing redeeming factor on the game that makes it outshine the others, but the annoying design made me lose interest after the first world.

Amazing game,

Beautiful 2D Sprites and backgrounds, very fitting music and varied and really interesting bossfights make this game pretty special.

The game is similar to Alien Soldier (Genesis) when it comes to stage design as you go through very short stages (Sections, in this case) to fight a very creative boss at the end, all of them requiring different strategies to beat.

Normal mode is really easy but Hard mode definietly makes up for it.

It's a very short arcade-styled but with the extra modes, unlockable characters and other bonuses there's quite some replayability.

Oh, And did i say the music, sprites and gameplay were made by 1 person? All of them great too!

Are you willing to spend 4 hours burning virtual items and burning combinations of similar items to get combos?

If yes, you might be greeted with an interesting story.

If no, there's absolutely nothing for you in this game and you'll see it as an utter waste of time and money.

Recommended for simple persons who can find enjoyment on the simplests things and don't mind doing the same thing over and over

(Even though every single item reacts differently when being burned and it's pretty amusing to see all of the reactions and it has good interactions and physics for each object)

Not recommended for people who hate indie games and don't want to spend time with a game (By doing somewhat mind-numbing tasks) to get to the interesting parts.

Fun game, fans of Metal Slug and twin stick shooters (Geometry wars) are in for the time of their lives.

The game has multiple difficulty settings which unlike in most games, are actually balanced and fun.

It has a story mode if you just want to chill and an arcade mode if you're aiming for a 1 credit clear, a good amount of unlockables and pretty varied and interesting levels that pay homages to other games of the same genre and style.

It's quite short since it's focused on being an arcade game, but it has enough variety and unlockables that give it quite some replay value, pretty good overall.

Pretty creative and fun puzzle focused platformer where you turn tiles, can't say much without spoiling all of it.

It has 5 worlds, all which are pretty ingenous and every world revolves around one gameplay element which makes it refreshing.

Very short game (almost 2 hours long) but it's pretty fun and quite challenging

The controls will feel pretty stiff to anyone who is expecting a regular platformer since the game is more of a puzzle game than a platformer but they work just fine

I played it with 0 expectatives and ended pretty surprised with it, very cute graphics and music also.

Not shovelware.

The scenarios aren't the strong point of this game, It only has around 3 of them which can be beaten in 1 hour but this game shines on...

The sandbox mode!, It has tons of things to micro manage and you can build a lot of different things, I don't think there's a better "build your own entertainment center with casinos" simulator avaliable, pretty decent at sale price.

Really good game, pretty short but that just helps it to not get old.

Mind blowing textures (not so much models, but hey, those textures are amazing) on walls, pipes, and pretty much everything.

Really good fast-paced 3D platforming with a good use of enviromental movement.

The biggest flaw of the game is how it suddenly focuses in combat near the end of the game and the combat isn't particularly great, even worse, this combat sections aren't even optional, you are forced to fight many soldiers while the whole main focus of the game was running away.

There's a story but it isn't anything spectacular or mind blowing, not even surprising at all in my opinion, it's just there for the sake of making the aesthetics of the game stand out even more, which is ok but there's more that could've done to it.

Overall a good and pretty unique experience, if they ever make a sequel to this game lets hope they ditch the combat entirely and it'll be even better.

This is a good visually driven game which tells you the conclusion to a series of games this developer created many years ago.

The presentation is excellent, the music is incredibly fitting, the pacing is good and it has quite some care on few small details.

I enjoyed it a lot, Don't be fooled because the game is around 10 minutes long (with other 10 minutes for it's prequel), it's pretty enjoyable and unique, can't say much without spoiling the story other than how enjoyable it was.

Do not buy this.

Don't support developers that think flashy graphics make a good game, this game has every single flaw you could think of from a bad shmup, it's the epitome of euroshmup covered in dog turds marinated on rat piss with some sprinkles on top so you go WOW LOOK AT THOSE GRAYPHIX.

If you want a good shmup go buy the Exceed collection or Gundemonium Recollection or play anything else besides this, even those browser flash games have better design than this piece of ♥♥♥♥.

I'll drop some liners to make this look like an actual review:

It has 0 replayability since everything is random and you don't earn your score by doing ♥♥♥♥, you get it by the randomly generated item pickups.

Analogue controls in a shmup.

Furries.

Akira Yamaoka has done great music in the past, even he knew this game was gonna be a piece of ♥♥♥♥ so he put 0 effort in the soundtrack of this.

Did i say don't buy this?

If you're one of the visual types this sums it up.
