I would consider myself a minesweeper enthusiast. I might even go so far to call myself a connoisseur of minesweeper. Not a single business day goes by where I don't open a new tab of minesweeper. I've even installed it as a personal web app on my work computer. Heck, maybe I'm a fanatic.

All of that is to say that this is the most inventive spin on minesweeper I have seen to date. Forget triangle mines, hex mines, and the fabled octamines - you now not only need to sweep mines, but build your character to survive further into the roguelite. Mines aren't instadeath - instead you have an opportunity to defeat the mine (monster) and continue on your quest. Between runs, upgrade your talents to earn more gold, runes, or increase your stats to build towards better runs in the future.

This is everything I thought minesweeper could never be and I've been waiting MONTHS for this to release. I sense a PIP in my near future, as my work productivity is about to plummet. Game of the Year in my book.

10/25/24 EDIT: This game does work flawlessly on Steam Deck. Some text does appear small, but it runs perfectly.
