Survivors are better played with friends, and keep an eye on your sodium levels.

All in all, as long as you can keep your attitude positive, it's a good way to kill time.

Hello friends. This review is for Ark: Survival Evolved.

Hunt, gather, farm.

Be a nomad, set up a base.

Be a trader, a warlord, or a spectator.

Be the Alpha, or be "prey."

There's alot of options to consider in ARK. You'll have too many to make on your own. It'll be best to make some friends, and shoulder some of the weight.


Pros, overall:
Gorgeous scenery
Fitting music, if that's your thing.
A wild variety of creatures, with various uses to them
A fair bit to keep you busy (More on this, potential con)
Good potential for tension and storymaking (Particularly if you're an RPer with a pvp bent to you, but YMMV)
New content, free or otherwise, comes in fairly frequently. Mostly free.
Able to be played Multiplayer or Solo.


Cons, overall:
The game can require alot of 'maintenance work' if you're alone, with no help.
There's always someone stronger than you. This person can be a ♥♥♥♥ and destroy your progress, or impede it entirely. *Multiplayer only*
Some bugs are taking their time being fixed.
Paid DLC (I personally don't care about this, but some have it as a dealbreaker)


To those reading this who have been shaken up by the community raising an uproar over the Scorched Earth DLC's paid release - Please disregard it and allow the dust to settle before making a decision. Things may change. Watch some streams. Ignore the knee-jerk responses.

The DLC itself is enjoyable, it's harsh, and fitting for a new challenge for older players (though I would *not* recommend the Scorched Earth map for new characters/players)

First off, this has been my first foray into the Ninth World of Numenera. I gotta say, I wish I had more opportunities to have experienced it sooner. It's a lovely mixture of SciFi and Fantasy that keeps me coming for more.


I'll be blunt with you, friends - The game is still in development as of this posting, but a big new patch was released today, promising many lovely updates to make an already entertaining slice of the game (It IS still being made, after all) into an overall better polished, and more tasteful slice.

If you're a fan of old school RPGs, or enjoy sci fi - Hell. Come give the game a shot when it's released. You'll get a kick out of it.

Note: before I get into detail, here's the long and short of what's to come: I recommend this game. However, waiting is a good idea. There's not much to do, but keep an eye on things until more is polished, and released.

....Actually, thats really all you need to know. This game has promise, but if you're looking for a game to entertain yourself, perhaps some friends as well, beyond Bola sadism and ganking, wait a while and let more features come.

I don't care what anyone says. Get. This. Game. Get Wesp's unofficial patches to hammer out the bugs, and enjoy the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ride. *Do not let the mistakes of marketing deprive you of a quality game.*

Nucking Futs. Grab a weapon, pick a door, weld it shut and pray your death comes quickly. Great for friends.

Violence? Check. Humor? Check. Intensity? Well, pick a good server and you'll have more'n enough of that.
