Been really enjoying the campaign and wargames mode. Ran into some funky bugs that wasn't gamebreaking but was worth mentioning, such as the mouse cursor disappearing and the overlay colours suddenly appearing in the normal world.

Is it the most amazingest sequel of all time? No. But it is great and plays well. It is the Homeworld we got and I feel like it is a solid foundation for a lot of things that could spring out of this.

I cannot wait until the mods arrive to fix some of the issues the other reviewers have touched on.

Been looking at this game from the side for a bit as I didn't have friends that was playing it. Playing it in solo is utterly pointless and I wish they would make it a better experience, for those days when the crew isn't about. I cannot comment on the pub experience as that is normally an experience I want to totally avoid.

But having played a bit, I can say that the premise works wonderfully with the design choice of a live action service. I played the first Helldivers a bit and always thought it was such a clever way to showcase the "constant and never ending grind", by being part of a totalitarian warmachine keeping everyone down by the constant fear of "the others", which they have pointedly poked heavily and now got pissed off, obviously not because of the constant poking.

It feels heavy, it feels clunky and it feels desperate and that's just what it does wonderfully. You are a clunky marine in space with big weapons and heavier ordanance just a dance dance revolution away from your fingertips.

It's pretty, sound is beefy.

I assume there will be a diminshing return somewhere where the fun stops and the curtain is pulled away, revealing the machinery and wizards behind it but from what I have been picking up, it seems far off. The developers shake things up by actually changing the dynamic, i.e. "oh, you beat everyone back. But surprise, the sneaky robots have taken many sectors and we are up arse creek and they are ever closer to our lovely planet". This seems to be wonderfully directed by the community manager(s?) and it's an unprecedented way of keeping people engage with the major orders.

I can recommend if you have a group of friends to play with. If you do not, it does not lend itself to singleplayer well but if you like torture yourself enough to join public sessions, I am sure you'd love it as well.

A wonderful gem of a game that is so innocent and cutesy you can't help being spellbound.

Go in blind. An insanely good and atmospheric game. Crazy good world building. Can be scary.

Oozing with atmosphere, clever puzzles and a hint of an engrossing story that makes you wanting more. Not really horror and more occult, the presentation is solid.

Slight control issues (game was very much made for phones first, PC later), but nothing that will bother you and it makes you appreciate some of the cool things they were going for on the phone.

A genuinely good game hidden behind some poor pacing and tedious resource grinding.

This game feels like it came off a relatively small magazine's CD filled with Quake 1 mods, maps, models. As you extract the mod from the CD, you read the readme file, where the author describes themself going to the science class to create levels for Quake, starting out with just leveling what they knew and then turning it into an art project. An art project to show the grimness of a dystopian presented as an utopia, but only for those who didn't ask questions. A society where the party men are talking about equality, yet showing immense corruption. Asking for complete obedience while looking down on everyone, who they say are their equals.

It's a game that portrays everything through it's levels, the presentatation and the bleakness. It's not a graphical restriction, it's a choice that everything looks like it is rusting, like there is no colour in the world. And while the maps are a feat in of themselves, it just doesn't have a lot else going for it.

If you loved the entry levels to Quake, where it presents it's monsters, architecture, scope and colour, you will enjoy this. It's atmosphere is insane for such a low fidelity game. If you want something more than that, it just isn't there.

It's a feat, though, it's a statement and it is well done and I feel like that merits enough for a recommendation

Treated with care and love, this remaster plays wonderfully, sounds great and further improves on one of the greatest adventure games I have played.

One of the best coop games which still works wonders in singleplayer. Lots of variations to each missions, no two missions are alike due to the procedurally generated levels.

Heartily recommended.
