I really enjoyed this game in Season 7. It felt like Apex was going a good direction.

Season 8, however, disproved that from being the case. It's almost as if they got too full of themselves due to Season 7's success and therefore walked so many steps backwards.

Pros:
+ Interesting, charming characters
+ Battle royale which rewards gunplay and movement (actual skill) over luck
+ Decent graphics, overall good map design

Cons:
- Title screen loading too long even with SSD and wired connection
- Awful monetization: Separating battle-pass holo-spray outfits from the battle-pass and charging extra money through events, mix-and-matching holiday outfits with weapon skins which don't match, etc. Classic EA
- Constant crashing
- Slow-motion bug in random games, both ranked and casuals, that renders matches unplayable
- Outdated "fill teammates" box design philosophy where you have to click the button every time to queue for solos
- Terrible balancing philosophy that involves more minor nerfs to overpowered weapons or refusal to restore them in care-packages, overnerfing/buffing character abilities, refusal to address the state of low-tier Legends, etc.
- Community is an absolute, toxic joke filled with leavers and backseat gamers who backseat players superior in skill, EA/Respawn does nothing to address toxicity
- Overall terrible servers which EA/Respawn refuse to update or fix
- Console players and their disgustingly overpowered aim-assist via crossplay
