The majority of this game is travelling between the same ports dropping off supplies over and over again, and after 16 hours I've barely made any progress. While this sounds dull on paper it manages to be a compelling experience thanks to the beautifully crafted world that's rich with lore and gorgeous areas.
Basically, this is a Lovecraftian Victorian era Death Stranding. With Trains.

The game's also super unforgiving even on merciful mode so each enemy encounter or new landmark will fill you with the dread of losing some significant progress, and adversely you'll breathe a sigh of relief every time you stumble across a new port, one of the few bastions of safety. Overall it's a really engaging game with a lot of depth with it's mechanics, and to fully explore everything I can easily see it taking a good 200 hours.

Is this a "choices matter" type of plot design, or more of a delivery sim?
