Just finished my first playthrough. I loved the premise and story of this game and the cast did a great job of bringing these characters to life. The twists and anticipation of how certain choices would play out made the experience quite engaging.

However... the ending was so incredibly dissatisfying. Characters that I had tried so hard to save and had connected with over hours of this game had no real closure to their stories and I was left with a sour taste that there really was no payoff to any of the major decisions or paths taken throughout this game. I wanted to FEEL the impact of decisions, the grief of losses, and the joy of surviving and reuniting the counsellors... Instead I was simply rushed through to the next scene or the end credits.

Definitely a game I can only recommend for the journey, certainly not the destination.

An absolute masterpiece. Some of the best dialogue and voice acting I've ever experienced in a game. While some argue there's nothing particularly compelling about the cast of characters alone, Dispatch does an excellent job of making you feel so connected to them through the emotional intimacy and relationships you develop with them through the dialogue choices the player makes. The writing is genuinely funny, heartwarming, and an engaging exploration of redemption & human nature.

While Dispatch works really well alone as an interactive visual novel, the Dispatch control board gameplay was well-designed and a satisfying challenge. The only exception being certain missions that punished you for having too much of a particular stat that can only really be countered with meta-knowledge and pre-planning.

I am already looking forward to seeing how my choices shift the narrative in a second playthrough!
