This game was first thought as a Valhalla DLC, and you notice that a bit over the game.
Finally back to being an Assassin protagonist, this follows the origin story of Basim, a character first introduced in Valhalla. If you played Valhalla, you'll know why this matters.

Visually the game does not bring anything different from Valhalla. Its pretty, but doesn't break any graphical ground.
But the city is beautiful...it has a lot of life added to it, lots of little details. Just navigating around with Basim's parkour is almost therapeutical.

Gameplay wise, you will see a lot of animations from Valhalla, but Basim is more agile, faster, having less armor also contributes to that. More parkour options, faster transversal navigation, makes you think of earlier AC games.

The focus on Stealth is the big plus for me, personally. I've played all AC games with a stealth approach, even if the game forces or punishes you not to. One hit assassinations, the stealth animations and focus on all missions are very enticing and I loved this aspect of the game.
I was hoping the game would have a more Unity/Syndicate like type of parkour and stealth (gameplay pinnacle of the franchise for me). Even though it wasn't, it was still a clear improvement from Odyssey and Valhalla.
The only downside to it is the dumb AI. Even on Master Assassin and Permadeath, the AI is very easy to counter. I wish it presented a higher challenge.

The game is noticeably smaller, which is at the same time a pro and a con.
Pro because the story is more focused, there is less filler. You still have side content, but there's less filler activities for no reason to the overall arc, which made Odyssey and Valhalla feel like such a chore to finish...
Con because it makes the game a lot smaller, taking less than 20 hours to finish it. At the same time, due to that, the original price tag was quite lower than usual for Ubisoft games, and adequate for the content.
I've paid 70-80€ for 8 hours games...

The story itself is not groundbreaking, but the focus on the Creed, overall conflict between Assassins and Templars, and Basim's background/transformation make it quite engaging and interesting. Considering the game is overall smaller, story focused and with less filler, makes for an overall better experience.

Ubisoft is currently suffering from their own creative decisions from past years, but the internet is unable to distinguish a good game from a bad game, simply spreading hate towards anything that brings Ubisoft's name into it. That is quite obvious in most Negative reviews even here on this platform.
The game is not groundbreaking, but it is quite good. I've played this game on Xbox, PS5 and now on PC, without a single regret. Even though I'm quite biased when it comes to Assassins Creed games (my personal favorite franchise), this particular entry does not deserve most of the hate it is being targeted with and for people not influenced by trolls and haters, should give this game a go.

I had high hopes for Mirage and even though it did not fully deliver on them, its still my favorite entry since Origins. Summing up all platforms, I probably have 60-70 hours on this game, and loved every minute of it.
On sale, totally worth the 25€.
