So here is my take on the game. Already anal that they charge addition money for addons that should already be in the game. But besides that, here is my issue with the game.

-Battles
I do not like the battle animations. Sure they look cool from above, but once you zoom in closer, it's gross. Units just randomly swing around and a guy will just randomly die and flop in the air. There is nearly no killing animations (besides giants and dragons, who have like 1 animation), awesome animations like what we saw in Shogun 2 are gone. So dont expect to see an orc pic a guy up and stab him or see several humans take down an orc. Etc... There is no cool matched combat. No sparing between humans, just swips and jump attacks that look anti-climatic.
Another nit picky thing is that rifle men dont even reload. They just fire once, then hold their gun, then fire again. It just goes to show the lack of attention to detail that was put into the battles. Creative Assembly did the exact opposite in the battles, it felt they didnt get creative in the battles.
-Lore
No problem with lore. They did a good job keeping track of everything and it can get enjoyable.
-Main Game
I did not like the main game. It is too cut and dry, there is pretty much no unit upgrades to makes your men looks noticbly cooler. Like in Rome 2, you get to start with soldiers who are armed with essentially toy sword, but make your way up to Legionaries armed to the teeth.
I also didnt like that there was a lack of government in the main game. Like you couldnt have a family tree, you wouldnt have generals loyalty. You dont have troops loyalty. So it just felt bland and empty. Now I understand they did this to attract new players from the warhammer universe. But at least make the battle look cooler.

At first when I started playing Total War: Attila, I could barley hang on to it. As soon as I began playing, the game made me sick. Even with a good computer set up, I still have trouble running this game in big battles on high quality. I wouldn't recommend this Total War game to someone who has a less than average PC, and loves graphics.

The AI in the game is still muffed up. There would be beach city battles that I would be defending and there is a high chance I will have to spend the sixty minutes waiting for the game to end, all because the AI refused to beach a unit.
The AI always magically knows where you are in the campaign, so there wont be much of a point in using guarilla warfare/ambush stance.
The auto-battle mechanic in the campaign is awful, in which I may have better tier/trained units than the enemy, who usually use tier 1 spearmen, but they magically still have the edge in winning the battle. This is bad as well because your allies are usually out numbered. Eventually it turns into a numbers game. Who can throw around the most troops wins. Not who has the best strategy.
Your AI ally always makes retarded ass decisions. For instance, I was the WRE and my ally, the ERE, was mainly in South Africa. This was somewhat later in the game. I sent a general and his army to help stop the Eastern invaders from pushing into South Africa. The point of no return was Alexandria, the spot we had to defend. Once my army got there, I place them in fortified stance. Everything was going smooth till the Eastern invaders arrived, immedialey the ERE AI took off from the defence leaving me to defend their own city by myself. If the ERE AI army was there, we would have easily beaten the Eastern Invaders back, but no, we got overran.

I still have much to go on about. The game is addicting for what ever reason, and somehow I found it more interesting and fun to play versus Total War, Rome 2. The darker theme and setting in which the apocalypse is taking in due to Attila's reign across Europe.
You have a family tree and potential diplomatic marriage to work on, which can be helpful and fun to roleplay with.
Thankfully, the biggest and main reason I play total war is its mods. Without steam workshop I probably would never place Total War Attila. Radious makes the campaign fun to play as you can gain much better stats. Not only that, but Radious' unit mod finally brings diversity, which the vanilla units lacked.

Above all, without mods and steam workshop. I would NEVER play Total War Atilla.
With Steam Workshop, well from the hours I spend on it, you can tell for yourself.
