A thug told a man he would 'stab and throw him in the canal' after climbing through his bathroom window. Abdul Shakeel Qayyum kidnapped his victim over an alleged debt after launching a "terrifying" attack on him with a wrench.

The victim, in his fifties, was attacked after Qayyum climbed through the bathroom window of his flat in the Abbey Green area of Nuneaton on June 26 last year. The bearded-thug then grabbed a wrench and started to hit the victim in the arms and head, while demanding the money he claimed he was owed.

Qayyum said he was going to take the victim to Coventry where he would be stabbed and thrown in the canal. Qayyum, 29, from Coventry, was jailed for three-and-a-half years over what police described as a "terrifying" attack.
