Novel, fun concept. A game built around the principles of maximising the effectiveness of a city layout from city-building games like Pharoah, etc. This is to those games what Flotilla is to Elite Dangerous, art style included. If you like the more intense, stimulating pace of those games and more active RTS games like Age of Empires, it could prove somewhat of a dull nuisance, but I think it's some good fun for the price and a nice change.

It's good; the price doesn't come into the equation! Good pure idea. Reminds me of the Tricky Treasure levels in Rayman Origins.

Also, it's tiny and takes no time to install.

My one note is that I'd like slightly better signalling about momentum when swinging. I occasionally ended up jumping off with insufficient momentum.

As everyone else mentions, this is an unforgivingly hard game that doesn't spare the whip on the player. The comparison to Super Meat Boy is apt. It is also very pretty, with unwavering attention to its aesthetic (in both visuals and sound design) and a good soundtrack to boot.

My only complaint is that a few level sequences start with challenges blocking the player and you need to wait for them to move out of the way to begin. This increases time spent waiting around, which, when you've died 20+ times in a level, can add up.

Great game. Solid gameplay concept backed by novel plot and top notch soundtrack. Hard mode is tricky, but I wish there was a punishingly hard mode because I'd play it a third time to be honest.

This is what sequels should be all about. Taking mechanics that worked from the first title and buffing them to a mirror finish, and then introducing new ideas to make it original.

For me, Origins was a really, really fun and solid game and a great return to form for the Rayman franchise. I've sunk many hours (three digits) into it and, despite not being the completionist type, have been pushed to try quite hard to do so by it's captivating art and great soundtrack, plus pile of content. With Legends, Ubisoft has managed to recreate this gem, but better. It's as simple as that.

The UbiArt engine is slick at all times and always stable, the game is even prettier then the first and, somehow, even more tuneful. I haven't anything to complain about yet, except perhaps that it's not occasionally as brutal as Origins in spots, but there's always plenty more in the game, and I haven't even mentioned the online challenges yet where the player competes against a global leaderboard.

If you like platformers, you'll probably love this game. It's fast, it's competitive and is sensibly integrated into online challenges, and doesn't suffer very much from being originally WiiU exclusive. It's my favorite game of 2013 (previously a title given to Revengeance), and a perfect 10 in my books.

I do recommend picking up Origins before this one if you're a newcomer to the franchise, though. You will simply be missing out otherwise and it has come down drastically in price.
