Eldest souls is a blast to play.

It's also more bloodborne and sekiro than dark souls in that the only way for you to heal is to keep attacking. The game looks fantastic with an amazing art style and the bosses and the sound track are all 10/10.

The game might not be the longest game out there but with what you get, you'll surely have a fun and frustrating time. None of the combat ever felt unfair as every boss clearly telegraphs their attacks and it's up to you to figure it out and find a way to kill them.

Another great feature is that you have 3 different main skill trees each with 2 sub sets of skills that would completely change the way you play. You have 1 skill tree for movement and dodging, another for damage and buffs, and another for defensive counter/parrying. You can change and respec the skills at any time to drastically change how you would take on a boss.

Overall, I cant recommend eldest souls enough, especially if you love the boss battles of games like sekiro and bloodborne.

I'm a huge fan of the Gears series and this game doesn't disappoint. However, it is marred by bugs and sometimes some texture popin or even hilariously long load times and framerate stutters. I had to check a gears 4 forum to find out that texture tessalation was what was making this game unplayable for me at first. but otherwise you get a game with a great story and fun gameplay.
