By the end of the match, Timmy’s base looked like a modern art exhibit titled Regret and Anger.
Timmy leaned back, exhausted. “I can’t do this anymore.”
TC nodded thoughtfully. “So same time tomorrow?”
Timmy didn’t answer.
He uninstalled the game
Timmy stood up so fast his chair almost left orbit. “JUST A GAME? TC, I have a vision. I have STRATEGY. I have—why are you laughing?”Because TC had just built a second wall.
Outside the first wall.
“So now it’s a luxury prison,” TC said proudly.
Timmy stared at the screen in silence for a full three seconds. Then he whispered, “I’m going to lose my mind.”
TC nodded. “Already did. I think it’s trapped behind your second wall.”
By this point, Timmy was pacing like he was preparing a legal case against the concept of friendship. “You don’t understand. Every time I try to improve, you— you—”
“I improve it first?” TC offered.
“That is NOT improvement!”
TC, unfortunately, knew this.
It all started with something harmless—at least on the surface.
Timmy and TC were playing a video game where you build little bases and defend them. Timmy was carefully constructing what he called “an impenetrable fortress of genius.” TC walked over, looked at it, and said, “Nice starter home.”
Timmy froze. “Starter home?”
“Yeah,” TC said casually. “Like, for the tutorial level.”
Timmy’s eye twitched.
But TC wasn’t done. Five minutes later, TC “accidentally” built a wall inside Timmy’s base that blocked him from leaving. “Oops,” TC said. “I thought doors were optional.”
“They are NOT OPTIONAL,” Timmy snapped, already trying to delete it. “This is sabotage!”
TC leaned back in his chair. “Relax, it’s just a game.”
