To point out to those complaining about dark mode being pay-walled (myself included), if you do actually need low contrast (such as for a visual impairment; again, me too), the app does change if you apply changes to your system's contrast. I'm sure (after testing) that it maybe isn't as aesthetically pleasing as dark mode, but it technically does work and as such the app and author are not excluding those with disabilities.

I've been using this program for years, love the program. In general, this is one of the first programs re-installed any time I wipe Windows and is always running (I disable steam integration so it doesn't impact my game metrics). It has a very low foot-print and for the most part has no issues maximizing windows. A couple programs may try to fight it, but usually toggling it off and on will force it to work.

While I still don't agree with dark mode being pay-walled, I'm not opposed to paying for a code re-write to get a more updated program. However, I would like to see more of this information on Steam about the upcoming changes before funding it. I am changing my review to positive, because after calming down I truly feel this program's added value outweighs this one negative.

For posterity, my previous review is below:

Forcing users to pay for an accessibility feature is demeaning and discriminatory. This isn't about the achievement, thanks for making that free. There are many people like me that have extreme light sensitivity issues or other ocular diseases/disorders that require dark mode and other such accessibility features. For instance, I have to have the night light enabled at 75%/3500k minimum 24/7 and use an extension to force normal webpages to be dark along with all the tuning for games. Choosing to charge for this accessibility feature is no different than penalizing someone due to them having a disability which is morally wrong.

Disabilities aside, charging 10$USD for changing/adding maybe 1-3 lines of code is also ethically wrong. As you mentioned, it is a cosmetic feature akin to changing one value on a CSS, not a major version change that would warrant an extra 335% of the current program cost. It would have been better ethically to have added this very minor change for free, and maybe if you were wanting more money, have a pop up when first enabling the feature to ask for a donation.

And if you really wanted to charge more for the program, then charge a new price for the code rewrite and call it Borderless Gaming 2 or something and offer a discount if they already owned Borderless Gaming 1. Some people would still complain that they have to spend money, but people are used to having to do this with other types of utility software anyway, so it wouldn't be as many people. At least this way you don't come off as discriminatory and morally/ethically questionable.

As an aside, I wouldn't mind paying for a more modern re-write of the program as suggested above, but I refuse to further support a product that is discriminatory against those of us with legitimate need for such accessibility options other than "it looks cooler".

You know that saying, "it doesn't take a rocket scientist"? Well, it helps to actually be good at this game. But there is so much you can do to have fun even if you aren't good at it. This is probably one of the best moddable games I've played as well, and the developers are pro-modding so any updates they do make sure to improve modding rather than hinder it.

While I enjoyed the game, it felt terribly short (and was, it was two hours shorter than the first fable). I really enjoyed the casting system and gear system, there was a lot of customization and it was fluid going from one combat style to another. Overall I would recommend it, but don't expect it to be better than the first two games.
