FUNKe would be proud, I finally played Titanfall 2! Even after it has been years after his videos about movement shooters dropped (which I actually watched on launch day), I regret every single day I didn't give this game a try.
If you want a good review about this game, just watch FUNKe's videos about Movement Shooters. They're pretty good to find other type of games in this genre too.

I'm not really sure if I want recommend it. Consider my review neutral but leaning to not recommend because the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion.

It's more Black Flag with a different storyline, that's for sure. A pretty nice one in my opinion, as the lore goes on about an Ex-Assassin willingly deciding to be a Templar, starring a few characters from AC III, and that alone might be a good enough reason to get the game.

Enemy variety is better than in Black Flag, with multiple types of Assassins lurking in the shadows and more aware than the usual red/yellow-coats soldiers. They even throw smokebombs when escaping and try to assassinate you if you get too close, with lethal one-hit damage (unless you have health upgrades).
At sea, ships can actually board you now as well! And Man-o-war ships are tankier and harder than in Black Flag. Ship battles in general are harder now because I've had way more situations where multiple enemy ships ganged up on me, making me choose between dealing with squishier ships or dodging Man-o-war mortars. In terms of combat, this game is definitely better than it's predecessor despite using the same game engine.

The collect-a-thon is just as grindy as it was in Black Flag though. Ship upgrades do get easier thanks to the insane money income you get mid to late game from properties you own, but for that you have to grind islands first. And I wouldn't recommend trying to 100% everything as collecting everything (like in most AC games) gets stale fast, to a point where you can see the patterns of the same objectives and reused structures.

The most ironic thing is that some of the tablets you can collect in the Abstergo Entertainment section literally describe how Abstergo recycles assets to save costs and time, clearly hinting at what Ubisoft has been doing with AC every single year before the RPG era hit, and the poor devs had (and probably still have) to cut corners where they can to meet the yearly release deadline. If that wasn't a hidden cry for help from the devs hidden within ironic jokes, I don't know what is.

Storywise, the only important relevance of AC Rogue is the fact that Shay Cormac killed Arno's Father, being directly responsible for turning Arno into an orphan. The majority of the story just clears up the gap between AC IV and III, without even including the death of Edward Kenway although Haytham plays a big role in the game (unless you count Animus database entries).
Also in my opinion, while it makes sense that Shay defected from the Assassin's because of how they misused the precursor sites, it's debatable that his defection could've been avoided if he and Achilles would've just talked out the real purpose of the sites calmly instead of throwing an anger tantrum for literal decades, even after being proven right near the end of the story.

Conclusion:
Buy if you like Black Flag's ship mechanics and the Templar betrayal story. Otherwise you can skip this game, as it can get too repetitive fast (especially after playing Black Flag).

Gameplay Description
The beginning starts out slow, with a tutorial where you're collecting coal by hand until you can afford miners who will do it for you. With time progression, your drill digs deeper and deeper into the mine, one kilometer at a time. It does get slower as you go deeper, however there are blueprints you can buy for new parts which are pretty much upgrades that make the drill go faster.

Here are some more things you can find within the mine. Carry on if you don't care about spoilers and want to know a little bit of what awaits you.

While the early game only focuses on the drill, while earning money from selling Coal, Copper, Iron, Gold and more resources you and your miners find, you will unlock more mechanics of the game as you go deeper.

The first gameplay changing unlock you get are caves, which allow you to send drones to gather resources, chests and rewards that would normally be inaccessible. There are multiple drones with different speeds, health and fuel capacity and to send them out you have a limited amount of collective fuel to put into them. All of these things can be upgraded as well later on, to get by faster.

Here are 2 more minor features I want to mention which appear early:

- Chests can be found randomly by miners, in caves or by said Scientists. Normal chests usually reward you with money, ores and timelapses which jump time forward for a small amount of time, however there are also better finds as well which are rarer. Gold chests usually give you really good stuff, however they're super rare as a result.

- Scientists which can be send out to expeditions from which they will bring you back either resources, chests or artifacts. Artifacts are items that give you a advantage for one of your tasks, for example better selling prices or longer timelapses

Of course there are many more things to explore within the mine, like some weird creatures or perhaps even hell itself?

Some side notes
- The game does run well with Proton, so even with no Linux port you're still able to play it on your favorite Distro. I recommend using Proton 6.3 for the best results, although maybe it will perform better on Proton GE at some point.

- The game gets constantly updated with more content and refinements over time and apparently a mobile port is coming too so you can look forward to that if you enjoy these type of games more on the go.

- Saves are easily transferable over multiple devices, with Steam Cloud but also manual codes which transfer the save by just copypasting it into a text file and pasting it again on the new device. My speculation is that this will be possible on mobile too (still a speculation though, because the mobile port isn't out yet).

Summary
This is so far the best idle game I've ever played. The gameplay definitely has more variation than most idle games while not overly burdening you with spending too much time on it which was enough to make someone who isn't usually into idle games like an idle game. Definitely give it a try if you need a game inbetween other things!

Enter the Gungeon is such a good roguelike that you will chant with the main menu everytime you open the game.

There are all kinds of weapons you can get within a run. From simple real life weapon that deal some more damage, to silly and ridiculous ideas like a letter that's just shaped like a lowercase "r" and the bullets it shoots spell and say "bullet".

On terms of difficulty, this game is pretty much what you would except from a roguelite. Runs do get easier after buying more weapons but mastering the main mechanic of the game "The Dodge Roll" doesn't get easier. and getting good at dodging bullets in general is always essential to beat a run.

If you're a fan of challenging 2.5D shooters with fun and humorous gameplay, definitely give this game a try. It didn't get boring for a long time for me, while I slowly made sure to 100% it. And if you do get bored with the base game, there is a small modding community for this game, which further expands it with custom weapons, characters and more.

It's like Doom but it takes place in the backrooms and on the trippiest drugs you could find.
Best Euro I've ever spent.

A short and sweet puzzle game with great humor. As I'm writing this, Helltaker is getting a small hype wave and in my opinion it truly deserves it!
Play it as blindly as possible. Other Reviews might spoil some parts of it so go now and play it.

Legit one of the best challenging rhythm games I've ever played!

To summarize what you can expect, you have multiple different themed zones to go through, with 3 levels each and a boss fight at the end of each zone. The game offers you many characters to choose from, where each one plays differently and has their own gimmicks that can make your runs either more challenging or easier.

Gameplay-wise, the beat mechanic is great, while the enemies are tough and can be challenging. The items can vary a lot from, for example, simple upgrades, "Play good, be rewarded", magic spells or added safety. There's also pedestals that can give or take items while enabling a challenging condition for your run as a tradeoff. Challenge rooms where you have to fight isolated minibosses can give you items straight-up if you can survive. And shops just give you items for gold (duh) with a shopkeeper who's singing to the beat, that usually doesn't get old whenever you visit him again in the same level.

If you're getting bored with the default soundtrack, you can choose between multiple official sets of OST's, all composed by great artists. Or (if you don't really care about achievements) you can add your own music as well!

The amount of workshop content this game has is also pretty massive and the amount of sanity found within workshop submission can vary just as much as The Binding of Isaac's. Some workshop mods that replace the music but keep the BPM the same can also be a workaround to keep achievements enabled.

While not a must, I highly recommend getting the Amplified and Synchrony DLCs too, because the content they're adding is MASSIVE! The Ultimate Pack isn't really necessary, unless you really want the FLAC files for each soundtrack in the game. You won't lose out on anything either way, should you decide to get the DLC later.

But overall, I simply love this game to death and back to getting reanimated! And with the current flow of new updates coming out, there isn't a better time to get into NecroDancer. You'll have a blast if you're a fan of the gameplay!

A neat 2D Roguelike. The artstyle reminds me of Limbo. Gameplay-wise, it feels like The Binding of Isaac and Dark Souls had a child.

It's very unforgiving when it comes to combat and item choices. Picking the wrong item or getting hit too often can be a death sentence. Probably the most unforgiving Roguelike I've played so far. It's definitely easier once you find out how all the enemies and bosses work, however even after knowing all the patterns it's still pretty challenging.

The only negative aspect that I can think of for this game would be that the boss intro cutscenes are unskippable, which is a slight annoyance because you have to watch them in every run.

Feel free to give this game a try. It is definitely worth it's price.

TF2 will stand as one of the best games I've ever played.

Really a pioneer of casual class-based teamshooter fun.

Give it a try with some friends. Make sure to try out the many builds you can create with unlockable weapons.

Perhaps even go into trading, buy a key or two and you can buy a buttload of cosmetics already just through the community managed trading market.

And if casual becomes too boring, try out many of the existing community servers. There are tons of them.

Either way, despite all of the hardship this game has faced, I never regretted playing this gem.
