I believe this is my first steam review after about 15 years of gaming. Really wanted this to be good, I went super hard when it came out (crafted the first set of voidbent armor on my low pop server). I probably have around 300-400 active hours in this game. Unfortunately, New World has non-stop game breaking bugs, exploits and dupes. And just for fun, the latest patch makes it 10x harder (not exaggerating) for players to grind end game activities so casual players will never catch up.

I don't have faith in the dev team to get control over bugs/exploits, and I don't have faith in the direction the game is going. I had a great time the first couple weeks, but I would not recommend it to anyone wanting to play it as a long-term game starting today. There are a ton of other issues I'm not even going to cover that are detrimental to my enjoyment of the game (lag, end-game loop, deleted gear, bots, false bans, lack of deserved bans, lack of QOL, server population balance to name a few). This caused me to stop logging on about a week or 2 ago, before the 1.1 void patch.

I would say this is probably still a cool experience for people who want to play really casually. A+ sound effects for gathering, best I've ever experienced. However, please watch a stream or youtube video instead and spend your money elsewhere, they don't deserve it. Companies are getting lazier and lazier with what they release, vote with your wallet or this will be the future of gaming.
