It's just a super fun game now. Very cathartic, somewhat challenging (if you don't keep up with weapon upgrades) and still fun.

Having played this game for hours prior to getting the Oculus Rift headset, I can say that the game itself is a great addition to any collection. It's intense, makes you feel incredibly small in the sheer massiveness of the universe and most importantly, feels incredibly satisfying when you finally get that kill, finish a mission or successfully smuggle items on a space-station.

Adding Virtual Reality to all this only made the game so much more engaging! First of all, the first person perspective from the pilot's POV lets you experience an amount of details which I had never before cared to notice: from a first aid kit in the cockpit to a small lunchbox on the side, by the seat. You can also have a 360 view of the whole cockpit, letting you see the lights and door behind you. This shows the effort through which the devs went through in order to produce a great quality game with attention to detail.

That being said, there are some things to keep in mind. While the game can be played with a keyboard, I highly suggest investing in a good Joystick/ Flight stick with at least 10-12 buttons. This makes the ship a lot easier to pilot. Also, having a software with voice-activated commands (such as VoiceAttack) would be immensely helpful and "mathematically 300% cooler" (Disclaimer: Maths not actually calculated).

Also, after spending 3.5 straight hours playing the game in VR, it did not tire me at all and did not make me feel disoriented. However, your mileage may vary.

-Incredibly fun and rewarding
-Stunning graphics

Cons-ish...:
-Better with a Joystick/ Flight stick
