Very very good game. They took a lot of pages out of the playbooks of some of the best open world games out there, but still retains the dark souls feel. If you are looking for a dark souls 4, it probably won't be exactly what you are looking for, but still enjoyable. The bosses tend to be less refined than dark souls 3 in my opinion, but they are much more abundant and extravagantly designed. Expect to run into bosses with the design budget of slave knight gael repeatedly and unexpectedly. The story is very much told in dark souls fashion, but if you pay attention you can get the general gist of whats going on and if you really focus, read item descriptions, and complete npc quests you can get a full and deep understanding of the lore of elden ring.
