Really wish there was a neutral option on Steam but you know how it is. I enjoyed my time with the game and got pulled in by the story slowly until I was left with the Gainax ending that left me very... unhappy. A frustrating and boring final level, along with a fairly uninteresting boss was a terrible way to end the game. Not to mention how hollow the ending felt, it left us on this vague idea of eternal recurrence, which while I'll admit was foreshadowed by the game, didn't feel satisfying.

The game oozes with style, the simple combat is satisfying and MOST enemies are fun to fight against. I'm not a long-time SUDA fan so I didn't recognise most of the references, nor did I really care. It did feel abit wanky, it was hard to parse how much this level of self-referentiality actually contributed to the plot.

**SPOILERS**

Juliet simply parting with Romeo after they finally have a proper conversation was ♥♥♥♥.

Do I understand the themes? Yes.

Did it still suck after spending the entire game chasing after her to learn that her and Romeo don't really know each other that well? Yes.

Especially since we never get any follow up.

Romeo's fate in particular felt VERY bitter, it was oddly cruel, though I'm told this isn't uncommon for GHM Protagnists.

Not as hard as Ruina or LobCorp, definitely more suited for a Gacha audience but still has enough complexity in it to be engaging enough for me.

I'm a little weird and don't mind grinding everyday in the Mirror Dungeons but the game is hard to approach due to the poor tutorial.

Really, the main draw of this game for me is the cast of characters and the story. Project Moon continues to impress me with how much they raise the bar every Canto.

I was hoping the Space Exploration would be more involved, but it's just fast travelling from planet to planet.

Story didn't really hook me in so I had no reason to continue playing it.

Incredible expansion. Fun gameplay with great mechanics and a fantastic story that carries the same emotional weight all RGG games have.

Early Access Review
It's abit rough around the edges, but that's to be expected from Early Access. Apart from one incident where a friend crashed and lost all the items he got at the end of a raid, I've had no problems with the game so far.

Runs smoothly, loads fast, doesn't drop frames.

Gameplay-wise, it's a blend of Hunt: Showdown and Tarkov. It's nowhere near as hardcore as Tarkov, which is a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences. You're almost always guaranteed to pick up a decent weapon within 1-2 raids as long as you're careful.

Main critique is that ship combat and boarding actions aren't really worth it. Getting new frigates is a hefty investment and they're very easy to lose. The Rustbucket is the most practical by sheer virtue of the pistol and rig you get for free with each raid, while also being disposable.

After nearly caving in and buying a PS5, RGG came from the heavens with a PC port.

Best of the series, the combat is fantastic, the story is gripping and emotional. Most importantly of all, they finally perfected Dragon Engine combat flow, switching styles and playing around with their unique movesets is a joy.
