Ryukishi07 really made a phenomenal and engaging story. The game keeps you wanting to know what happens and even after finishing and getting the "coming home to roost" ending, I still feel like I need more. It really makes you want to 100% and try to earn other endings just to get more of the story.

I will say combat is unforgiving and a bit frustrating at times, but I powered through and over all enjoyed the game play. BUT man did I upgrade that stamina real quick! 90% of my upgrades went into stamina and maybe health a couple of times. Stamina was my hugest issue with the game if I had to choose something that angered me in any way. Even upgrading the stamina still felt like I never had enough.

I feel like this game is very different from Silent Hill games and really is like it's own entry with the franchise name tacked on, but is that a bad thing? no. Is this game for everyone? Probably not. I think if you enjoyed Silent hill 2 Remake, Fatal Frame, Kuon, and Higurashi then you'd appreciate this game very much.

Bloober games are not that great, but this ... this one they actually got it right.

If you played Maiden of Black Water and didn't enjoy it, then please you must give this one a try because the story is incredible in comparison. It has phases that are like the drops in five and though I would enjoy a format that's similar to Crimson Butterfly, I don't mind the chapter format since it was done better than five.

The game really does leave you feeling some kind of way once it's finished.

I originally played this on PS3..... solo and it was a painful experience. I finally got to experience this MASTERPIECE in the true way it should be played: CO-OP. It's still horrible and riddled with QTE, but playing with another person made the game hilariously bad and more tolerable .
If you ever play Ada's campaign with another pls know that Agent is the best character in 6.
