Additional comments: As a fighting game veteran, the obscenely simplistic controls of this game are an embarrassment to the fighting games that it mashes together. With only two buttons for combos with no directional inputs, as well as a lack of unique resources that nearly every character has, the game feels restricted on movement options as well as combat. Two buttons with no directions means less neutral options than you can count on one hand, as well as limited and highly restricted combo paths. There are no footsies, no real mix-ups, and every Bread & Butter combo boils down to "Mash A or B, then mash the other button that you didn't start with, use your Assist, mash A or B one more time, use a super if available, use your tag super if available."

I personally refunded my deluxe edition pre-order after going through training mode and playing about a dozen matches online. The only fun I could pull from the game was seeing my favorite characters from different franchises fighting side by side.

This would have been perceived better if they listed this under a new title instead of devaluing the BlazBlue franchise.
