Presentation and atmosphere are everything in this short but visceral experience. I had a blast solving puzzles and running away from the slasher villain. The heavy metal chase sequence music might be off-putting for some, but for me they added to that killer B-movie vibe. If you're looking for something cheesy with a ridiculous secret boss, consider picking this up and the other Torture Star titles.

GOTY contender, a beautifully-executed and endlessly charming throwback to classic survival horror full of clever puzzles and macabre whimsy. I laughed and screamed in equal measure. More like this please.

A short campy adventure that begins with some light puzzles that are fairly easy, culminating in a challenging end boss with some incredible pixel art. Absolutely pick it up for the price.

An unfairly maligned and unabashedly creative role-playing game where you customize your own furry cute/ghoulish mutant, craft your own weapons out of random junk you find in a beautiful post-apocalyptic world. It's an incredibly flawed but beautifully immersive experience. Combat doesn't feel near as meaty as it should, but you can also summon mushrooms to bounce your enemies on. You can also use those mushrooms to help you traverse the world.

I went on a vision quest chasing down a mirage across the map that helped me learn how to further give abilities to my robot grasshopper companion. It's like Breath of the Wild but through a surrealist furry lens and I think the narrator from Stanley Parable is translating everything for me.

One of the most unique and strange experiences I've had with a game since EYE Divine Cybermancy. I'll take a 100 of these over a polished Ubisoft open world experience any day. My recommendation is to pick this game up on sale and give it a shot.

An incredible triumph marrying mechanics and narrative, a discussion of fate versus free will, the rights of indigenous peoples versus imperialism, and you're at the center, starving, dying of plague, trying to find your father's killer and save a town. One of the most immersive games I've ever played, a richly-detailed world, and incredibly terrifying at moments. I laughed, I cried, I panicked, I have never fallen in love with a game so hard. If you're in the mood to get put into a grueling survival simulator, check this one out.
