I recommend this game, even when it is still in alpha. Why? You can experience the updates!
At the moment, there aren't really alot of big updates, but I love reading the dev blogs and looking forward to play the new content!

Now, this game is brutal. As in; Don't whine about losing.
Seems harsh, but when playing on a server, even noob friendly, you are going to die. alot.
Ofcourse, this will suck. alot.
But, as you play more and more of this game, you will get better and know how to defend yourself, after getting your base raided a few times, you learn and start to see the raids as feedback, what to do different.

I've met alot of noobs, who kept complaining about dieing, but as soon as they got geared up, they enjoyed killing other players and forgot that they were beginners one day as well. So it does show some human instincts.

Also, when you have a base and gear, the current end game content is PVP. Don't complain when you are killed, just start over and try to get revenge. When someone kills you, don't spam the chat claiming someone is hacking, they aren't 9-10 times. They just got you. If you do choose to whine and calling people hackers, you won't be taken serious. They will treat you like a 11 year old. I've seen 5-6 players, who kept spamming about people being hackers, everyone got tired of them and started hating them, admins banned them for bad behaviour. If you get killed, just say something as "Well played!", it is sportmanship, if you kill someone, you are happy about it as well, so try to stay friendly and you will have a great time in rust.

The game is kind of blank at the moment, the biggest content is PVP, which is great fun. Don't expect to much, besides the PVP, but it has great potential worth an investment right now, if it is to blank for you, wait 2-3 months and try again with the new content :)

For me, this is one of my most fun games, espescially to play with friends!
