I love a good stealth game, and having one in VR is even better! I like the feel of moving about the world, and the patter of the guards is fun to listen in to from the shadows

A really cute, short and sweet game. Big Amélie Poulain vibes, with the obviously Ratatouille-like "Rodents x France" slant. I found myself thinking a lot about Untitled Goose Game while playing it, mostly because both games play like a love letter to small towns of their countries. In UGG, the footpath signs, the stiles, and the pub gardens of England. In Spirit and the Mouse, the flickering "Pharmacie" signs, the Petit Futé and Guide du Routard awards on hotel windows, and the yellow post boxes of France. All these little touches that you don't realise are part of the fabric of your life in a place, until you move away from there and rediscover them in games like these. A very lovely feeling all in all!

If you like any of these you are going to LOVE "En Garde!".
What at first seems to be a simple attack / parry / dodge combat system, quickly reveals its fiendish complexity as enemies don't leave you any breathing room. You'll have to create some for yourself, with the many, many, many props, traps, tables and other things to throw, kick, swing from, or push enemies into.

The game's whole purpose is to allow you to effortlessly create movie moments. Swing over an enemy's head and as they stand there stunned at your style, you'll be able to take a slash at them and send them to the floor. Leap across a table, grabbing a bag of spices as you go and throw into the pursuing mob to stun them while you duel a mischievous musketeer one-on-one. The list goes on!

The story is simple, clean, wholesome, family-friendly fun, with hilarious guard quips and the ever-appreciated Asterix-style joke of defeated enemies hushing each other silent as you leave the room, post-battle.

And what can one say of Adalia de Volador? She's instantly endearing, charming and cocksure, never allowing a defeat to be the end of the story (literally, play and you'll see). And that's without even mentioning the colorful characters she meets on her adventures.

TL;DR: If you want to be an over-the-top swashbuckling woman of the blade during the Spanish Golden Age, then this game is for you.

An amazing little game! Such a great blend of geometric puzzling and mechanical thinking, all brought together by an insane sense of style and cultural specificity. The free modes are a great touch and I'll be coming back to see what I else can do with them!

♥♥♥♥ the Pope, Marry your brother, Kill some random duke who stood in your path to the Abbasid Caliphate. This is like CKII, but better: a better sense of roleplaying (thanks to the stress system), better tutorialisation (without going full hand holding), better graphics (love me some animated portraits), better UI (thank god for tooltips), larger base map, but with the same sense of INSANE granularity, where you can go from the tiniest town in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-Nowhere, France (I should know, I'm from such a place) to the largest empires of the Asian steppes. I love this game as much as the previous one, and having come in late to the CKII party, I intend to stay much longer in the CKIII one.

TL;DR: ♥♥♥♥, Marry, Kill: 1066 edition. But better

My 10 hours on steam playing this game are no representation of just how much I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE this game. My parents got an original boxed version way back when, and I played it for HOURS on a yellowing Compaq home computer running Windows ME. This game, its animations, soundtrack, icons and UI are all genuine "Madeleine de Proust" for me. It might be surpassed by Civ V and VI in terms of gameplay and approachability, and honestly, you'd probably be better off playing the more modern versions, but Civ III still holds a special place in my heart.

It's GTA V. It's pretty good

This was an absolutely delightful little game, with surprises and cute little secrets of everyday life hidden away everywhere. Highly recommended for grey winter afternoons when the sun is far and you need a bit of summer spirit to boost you up.
