As of writing this, the game has been released and it's already Patch 6. Honestly, this game should've been in early access at the moment. But it's released so I just can't recommend playing it.

To start with, the game is cool, its core mechanics are solid and overall it's a fun thing to play, but it's TERRIBLY glitched. So far I've done about 10 runs, 2 of which were glitched and broken. I couldn't progress and had to restart. That makes 20%, right?

A level can spawn with an invisible wall that you can't pass through. Restart.
In zone 1 there is a type of level where you had to pass through a code door opened by an eye scan of a (now dead) employee. It's a cool idea, but going back and forth for the heads (a level spawns with 3 employees) is tiresome. Also, sometimes it just so happens none of the three work. Restart.

The game provides you with a main weapon you can upgrade and some secondaries lying around here and there. But by the time you reach level 1-3 your main weapon would be upgraded to such degree all secondaries would be just useless. Also, when you pick one up, the game forcefully switches you to it. Weapons are not attached to the buttons, so you have to scroll your mouse wheel all the way back to the weapon you were using just a moment ago. Yes, if you stumble arcoss one during a battle, you'll have to do it right in the middle of enemies munching your face. Also, weapon pickups are just strange in having just one clip of ammo while you can pick up a second copy anytime. So, you had a plasma gun with a full clip and you pick a second one? Congratulations, now you have a plasma gun with a full clip of ammo. Where has the new one (or the one you had before?) gone? Vanished! Probably would've been better if secondaries could stack up ammo while being limited in number you could carry. If they were better than your main one in the first place.

The AI of monsters gets boring by the time you reach zone 3 or so. It's the same for every monster - run towards the player while shooting a gun (if a monster has one). In zone 1 it's what you'd expect of zombies and whatnot, most monsters are melee anyway. In zone 2 appear fast melee guys, tough melee guys, poison-exploding melee guys and it still plays OK, but by the zone 3 lacking in the AI becomes blatant as the gun-carrying guys just do the same thing as the melee ones. No tactics required, no specific approach to some kinds of enemies whatsoever. Even in DOOM back in 1994 you had to adapt sometimes, being a retro-styled game doesn't mean playing stupid.

Let me repeat myself, had this game been in early access, I'd say it has a great potential and would love to see it released. But as a fully released game, it's bugged and lacking so I can't recommend it at the moment.
