Good game ruined by idiotic development decisions, greed and numerous cash grab attempts.

Making games cost money and that's understandable but the game itself was an ARK reskin at its best and most of the implementations weren't exactly groundbreaking or resource heavy.

It was clear that they killed it the minute people found out it was a reskin and nothing more and that the devs were more focused on milking it as much as possible before moving on to other projects.

It could have legitimately taken over a good portion of Sea of Thieves/AC Black Flag/Skull and Bones player bases if just a little more effort was spent on making the game enjoyable.

I'd recommend it if it was optimized but this is unfinished trash:

1. While i don't mind gated content in games like Skyrim, the fact that every single location you wish to go to involves endless loading screens just makes the game more annoying to play than anything else.

2. The "open space" in planets and the procedural content is repetitive and often doesn't make any sense with the local setting. There is zero lore associated with the procedural content, just caves, pirate compounds, more of the same stuff with zero storytelling, we've taken a step back from past Bethesda games.

The planets are bland, the terrain is just not interesting at all, even planets like Neon are generic and lack activities for players to explore aside from a few side quests.

3. The NPC design in cities is horrendous, and some of the models are either unfinished or simply botched. I have a hard time imagining a 3D designer at Bethesda made them, as it looks more like subcontracted work from some third tier studio than a AAA studio's work.

4. The crafting is uninspiring, very generic and often overly complicated to the point it becomes very frustrating having to juggle between all components.

5. The UI is absolute ♥♥♥♥, and makes point 4. even more difficult to enjoy as the inventory UI is just a chore to work with.

6. Romance is meaningless, you can marry Sarah or Andreja but there's no more to it than some repetitive sweet talk ? No kissing ? Nothing ? You can't even cheat on one of them ? Adding more depth to romance would have been an easy thing but i guess politically correct minds over at Bethesda knew better.

7. The outpost system is nice but again, too complicated and with the horrendous UI, i just avoid it altogether.

8. Space travel is useless and the ships are a gimmick as the procedural content is all the same soulless crap and the loading screens to get anywhere will just discourage you from pursuing your space exploration.

9. The engine is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

10. The housing system is nice but there is zero perk in owning properties in the game.

11. Optimization is a mess, high end computers can barely break 45-50 fps on ultra settings and the graphics are unimpressive at best with those settings.

The pros:

- Good gunplay
- Lots of nice small details still in the game, such as the food descriptions, etc.
- Lots of storylines that are interesting, making the main quest line almost secondary in nature.

What started as a good idea turned out to be a lazy attempt at an MMO.

1. Levelling is tedious, no real lore or storyline that hooks the player. Factions don't mean much so you're not even bothered with the lore. Quests are copy pasted across all villages, no real evolution as you level up.

2. Professions don't mean much when the economy is flooded due to bots and everything being crazy cheap on the AH.

3. Bots are a problem.

4. Level design is lazy at best, repetitive with a lot of copy pasted assets across the entire map.

5. Engine is restrictive for nothing and just adds additional stress to the game. People with high end gaming rigs still reporting heating issues to this day.

6. Dungeons are uninspiring and extremely easy.

They started off great and then everything else after level 10 became a lazy display of "creativity".

Wouldn't recommend the game, even old MMOs like SWTOR have better storytelling, faction systems and dungeons/instances.
