When I was 3 years old our Mil Mi-24 was hit by a FIM-92 Stinger, fired by a drunk, Afghan rebel. The missile punched through the thin aircraft frame blowing the tail of the helicopter off beyond recognition, however, due to the sheer strength of the Soviet Pilot, we were able to continue with our mission to enforce the Soviet scorched earth policy as we successfully blew up 4 Mujahideen "Camps" before returning to base. Since this point I have never flown an Mi-24.
