Monster Hunter Wilds is a sequel to all those who loved the style and setting of Monster Hunter World and Iceborne. As a note, I have had none of the problems with the game running that many, many others have reported so my recommendation is likely more positive than others.

I enjoy the look and feel of this game, and I find the design of the new monsters to be particularly refreshing after so many dragons and drakes. The armor and weapon designs are some of the best I've seen in the series, and although Monster Hunter is never a game I look to for incredible dialogue or story, this game has marked improvement over previous versions. What I appreciate the most in this game is some of the "unnecessary" attention to details. Things like monsters getting covered in sand when you knock them over, or the cat that revives you running all the way back to camp when done, rather than simply "disappearing" off screen. The visuals are incredible and the sound design is fantastic.

The game could stand to be a bit more challenging for veteran players, but I suspect the expansion to this game will have plenty of that to offer. I highly recommend this game to newer players, and suggest that older players give it a chance.

Thoroughly enjoying everything about the game so far. Graphics are very good, soundtrack is as wonderful as the original (same composer), and the combat/build system is familiar but updated. Game does seem a bit fast paced in the campaign, but still very fun.

A well done remake of a classic game. Plenty of depth without some of the modern gimmicks but with a smooth overhaul to make the game playable to a current age standard.

This game is the perfect union of animal crossing and harvest moon. I've been playing for years, and I always find reasons to come back. I can think of no greater game to unwind from a stressful week, and yet still have the complexity and depth to play over and over again. 10/10.
