Takes me back to when I was a middle school student looking for free horror indie games to play with my friend. That friend just got married, and I bought this to support the creator and relive the nostalgia. It's been remastered wonderfully. It feels more lighthearted than I remember, but that suits me fine. It's less horror and more laughs. Great story and fun few hours to 100% it and notice the small differences between the protagonists' gameplay and dialogue

I've followed the development of this game on the creator's tumblr page since it was announced.
I first found Phoenotopia on the Newgrounds page and fell in love with it years ago. It was a game that I kept coming back to and even made a Newgrounds account for so I could get all the achievements. When it was announced that there would be a sequel to it, I knew I would happily pay full price when it was released. It was so good that I wanted to support the creator.

Phoenotopia Awakening expands on its predecessor and offers a lot more gameplay and story. Even having played the first game multiple times, I never got bored playing this one.

The game itself reminds me a lot of Legend of Zelda. It's fun and suits a casual player like me. I still haven't finished the game as life got busy, but I will absolutely go back to 100% it later.

The art is so cute. The soundtrack is darling. The story and world aren't super original, yet it feels fresh and incorporates twists and new content to a story we've seen before. It's similar to the different games in the Legend of Zelda series that build on the same basic plot points. The controls take a little getting used to. I'll admit that I recall the original Phoenotopia's controls were more more manageable because they were simpler, but I think the new controls aren't terribly taxing; they just need some getting used to. It evolved along with the game and its platforms. I imagine it's easier if you have a controller, but I did not.

TLDR: it's fun and i've loved it since the original newgrounds game. the creator put a lot of love into it, and it shows

This was a great way to end the Strange Man series! Compared to the difficulty of The Boogie Man, the puzzles are fun to solve, and the world was easy to navigate. The story is the same amazing quality as the other three games in the series. I'm a big fan of Uri's work and can't wait for them to release more games:)

I played the previous games in the series, and I really enjoyed those so I had high hopes for The Boogie Man. I've been a big fan of Uri ever since I played The Crooked Man for free on RPG maker years ago.
This game is definitely more gory and violent than the first two. I wasn't super into how bloody it was, but I respect the vibe Uri went for. It was consistent and fits into the story.
The puzzles in this game were more difficult for me compared to the first two games. I got stuck a lot and ended up using a walkthrough to get all the endings because I couldn't figure a lot of parts out (that chess puzzle beat the crap out of me). Shoutout to vgperson for the walkthrough!
The voice acting was insane. There are a lot of reviews saying it sucks, and I agree with them to an extent. It's definitely not the best voice acting you'll ever hear, however, it was really fun and added to the experience. I had it on in the beginning for pure entertainment reasons. The dialogue grew on me, and I thought the actors were doing much better toward the end though. I appreciate the voice actors for their contribution. It was a new feature to the series, and I wish I had gotten to explore the bonus content at the end with their comments, but my game was buggy and wouldn't let me (I submitted this issue to the devs).
The story was good. I wasn't impressed with the characters in the beginning, then as the story progressed they grew on me. The dialogue could flow a bit better; there are times where I found a line cheesy or unrealistic. There are a few grammatical errors but it doesn't detract from the experience. I like the way this game fits into the series and look forward to the last game:)

TLDR: it was a fun time even though I needed help. The 10 hours I put into the game is worth the price.

It's such a cute way to focus on being productive. You clearly state your goal and the thing you're working on, and it has a little to-do list as well so you can break it down even further. The sounds are soothing and chill.

good vibes and helps me focus:)

it's cute! and challenging. it was fun to get all the achievements, but it'll definitely take some persistence bc you start the level over every time you die. great time for the great price of free:)

It was a good sequel to The Crooked Man. It's definitely more lighthearted and less horrifying than its predecessor though. The achievements aren't hard to get; you can get them all in the first run. It was fun and a good story. Worth its price.

the art is okay. the story feels lacking. the characters are super flat. it definitely wasn't worth all that reading. it felt like it was reaching too hard to be deep, but the story isn't cohesive or engaging.

not bad for a free game, but i could've gone with never playing it
