original version was a million times better sadly. still making this a positive review since the original was my most played rpg maker game of all time and this remake does have a lot of improvements, but it really is lacking a lot of the original game's charm, and i'd even argue there's considerably less gory parts in this game than in the original.

the changes to yoshino's death (outside of the new cute aki sprite) were especially disappointing considering that was arguably the most popular death because of how shocking it was, plus some other puzzles were also more entertaining/harder in the original game

haven't played this remake with the male protagonist yet, but judging by the achievements' names it seems theyve decreased a bit of the yuri vibe the original game had. og game suggested the female protagonist was the canon protagonist while in here it seems to be the other way around? i'll edit this review once i see it for myself, but i do admit the thought of it seems a bit disappointing to me

so is it worth it? yeah, im still having a pretty good time overall! but definitely play the original too if you do
