I did not expect to get sucked in to this game as much as I did.

The whole point of the DLC is to grind dungeons. For ages on end. Very boring.

Pros
  • The setting - This game is incredible in its attention to detail and references to the vast amount of 40k lore that exists. It really is a love letter for 40k fans, and one that is done very well.
  • The writing – The writing is very good. The story has intriguing mysteries and plot devices that make you want to uncover the truth of what is going on in the world. Characters and dialogue are well written and they feel real and believable for their history and personalities.
  • Combat – The combat is decent, Tactical turn based is good and hits the spot as a fan of that style.

Cons
  • Loading Screens – This game simply has too many loading screens – they make things painfully slow sometimes.
  • Warp Travel – Is just annoying to be randomly pulled into meaningless fights against trash mobs when you’re trying to travel.
  • Minor bugs – A few minor bugs persist with regards to quests and achievements

Gearbox really purchased the rights to the game and said "How can we screw this up for no reason"

A fun little game that is a couple of hours long. Recommend picking it up on sale.

I've never played any games of this genre before. But DSP is immensely satisfying, progressing through the various stages and objectives.

The first installment of what will likely be a few games, the game ends with the promise of Consortium II and the story remains unfinished. Really fun, a lot like Deus Ex, less combat orientated though, for this installment at least. You converse with people and investiage things to navigate through an open game where you are able to make different decisions. The games all culminate in the same ending though, so as to pathway into the second game, but you are reminded of all your decisions and a promise that they will matter down the line.

tl;dr great game, a bit like Deus Ex, more installments comming to finish the short story, and due to that shortness not particularly worth the $20 price tag. I'd wait until it comes on sale or is in a finished bundle with all the story finished.

One of my favourite games of all time.
If you like spy movies and fortress simulators, you'll love this game.
