so far, pretty nice. but to be honest, this game suffers from something that art of rally suffers, which is: if you go off track, even a LITTLE bit, it's like your engine is stalling, it slows you down SO much. skill issue on my end tbh, really good! love how the game looks and the filters they let you play with, handling feels good/nice. for $13 an absolute steal. i know i'm going to be spending lots of time on this wonderful new rally game!!

Now that FFB works on Linux (I run CachyOS) via using GE-Proton10-25 in the compatibility tools section of the game's properties, I was able to do some practice runs with the Lancia Stratos, Mini Cooper, and Colin McRae's infamous Subaru Impreza...
This is already an outstanding rally simulator--even though the content is limited because it is indeed early access... In my opinion, the driving feels so realistic after you dial your settings in. The handling feels amazing and realistic--completely fair. I haven't driven on Tarmac or Snow, yet, so I'll update this review when I have... But I have to admit, this is the most fun I've had in a rally game since Dirt Rally 2.0. This might just dethrone my most favorite rally game if development continues like it has, because this game is SUPER FUN.
If you've been looking for a modern rally game that will knock your socks off, you need to pick up Assetto Corsa Rally. Absolutely beautiful and too damn fun. 8.5/10 (-1.5 for limited content, early access, and I hear VR is a little finicky as of now, but I bet they'll fix that soon)

Download and Play the demo! If you like it, you'll love the game.

I love the low-poly art-style, the maps look amazing; the driving is a little bit 'on rails' but it feels really nice and smooth, the campaign and upgrade system is reasonable and honestly more in-depth than some other casual arcade racers. I also adore the way the camera moves and how the world curves, it really has that classic racing game (from something like the SNES) vibe to it that I've been craving.
I love simracing but when I get bored of it its racing games like this that I fall in love with.
I just wish they didn't remove the leaderboard...

I rate it a great 8.6/10.

Assetto Corsa is an excellent racing simulator without mods. It becomes the BEST non-subscription racing simulator with mods. Also, the multiplayer available through AC's content manager is wonderful, offering a server browser and filtering. There's a reason this 12 year old game still peaks at 15,000 players every single day. Also, it works on Linux with minimal intervention (selection of the correct GE Proton version and oversteer/logitech driver install), including FFB, mods, and graphics tweaks/post processing filters. There's even a YouTube tutorial on how to do this that's very helpful and even shows how to install SOL (weather and graphics mod).

The game feels soulless, empty, and boring... The graphics leave much to be desired, and the driving feels awful.

It's not my type of game. Perhaps you'll like it more than I did.

I find Euro/American Truck Simulator to be more stimulating and much less boring... 'Need for Speed.'

You may as well buy a subscription and contents for iRacing with how much of the content is behind a paywall and how much it costs for LMU.
Also, Online seems to be non-existent for me. Hopefully they figure that out. Hopefully they complete the single-player mode; after its released on July 22nd I'll give it another shot, but it is NOT worth the money right now, even 20% off, in my opinion.

It's just currently PAINFULLY incomplete, and it doesn't help that, in order to make the game feel somewhat complete, you have to shell out like a hundred bucks in DLC.

I think I'm gonna renew my sub to iRacing instead. However, I am excited to see how it fairs after its fully released.

FFB on Linux!...
Oh, they want to change the game for worse....
Yeah, maybe wait until its out of Early Access.
Even then the servers can't be hosted locally. How fun.

The driving is alright... The wheel support is an actual joke. It's completely soulless. More than FH4, and I thought FH4 felt pretty soulless, but compared to this game, FH4 has more soul in its pinkie than this game has in its entire 100 GB or however much space it ends up wasting.
Also, right off the bat you get hypercars and other garbage that makes any sort of progression feel meaningless, if not just a chore.

Also, the map is a barren wasteland with a few towns here and there. It's a really sad installment, probably the worst in the Forza series.
