Preface
Long ago I wrote very long and extensive reviews of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man Miles Morales, though to be truthful I can't be bothered to do that again so here's a much shorter version for Spider-Man 2.

Pro's
1. Overall, the game itself IS objectively the best feeling out of the three Insomniac Spider-Man games. It features silky-smooth web-slinging, very fluid combat, and a great variety of new and improved moves. The map itself is also much larger and full of ways to get around which makes the gameplay more fun than ever.
2. The graphics, too, look better than ever, though as the previous games ALSO looked great this isn't a shocker.
3. I think the side missions are the best they've ever been, with two of them having made me cry little baby tears and one of them being very cute and unique (this has let Spider-Man fans to hate this mission as Spider-Man fans hate anything that isn't punch punch fight bad guy, but I like it). The variety is appreciated.

Subjective Points
1. I feel this isn't a pro nor a con so it gets a whole section, but it is worth nothing that both Spider-Men have 4 gadgets as opposed to Peter's original 8 in Spider-Man PS4/Remastered. This isn't inherently a bad thing, though I will say I do prefer both the quality and the quantity of most original gadgets to what we have now. I really liked the smart gadgets in the original game that encouraged you to experiment and be stealthy like the trip-mine, but the following games mainly feature very aggresive gadgets (and in Miles Morales' case, a gadget that just fights for you which I REALLY dislike).

Con's
1. Like most Sony ports, this game is not without it's many flaws and if any of the other games are proof a lot of these issues will never be addressed. While not nearly as bad as on the original two games, I faced several crashes despite a more than adequate rig. Mission trails would be invisible or trails of large goo rather than the futuristic trails they're supposed to be.
2. The story is pretty rushed. Unlike most Spider-Man 2 fans, I don't think this is the worst story of all time and I actually think it's a significant improvement over Miles Morales. That being said, it's still pretty rushed at times and could benefit from some extra missions especially in **cough cough** certain later parts of the game.. Additionally, there really isn't any post-game content to do other than crimes which is surprising because both prior games had repeatable hideouts.
3. The suit variety isn't perfect. While there are plenty of suits, there could certainly be much more and the idea that Miles and Peter should have equal suits despite Peter existing as a character for 50+ years prior is silly.
4. I really wish the story would take a "Show, Don't tell approach". I can't really get into this point without spoilers, but there's quite a lot that happens off screen that I don't think benefits the story in anyway but rather hinders it.
5. Spider-Cat's finishers do not work anymore and this is the gravest sin I discovered while playing the game. The new finishers are incompatible and thus he will just sit in your bag the whole time. Boooo. For shame, Sony. For Shame

Afterwords
All in all, I think this is a very good game with some very prevalent
flaws. I would very much still recommend and think it was more than worth the money, though I really do hope that Spider-Man 3 works towards fixing some of my main issues (Especially in regards to fixing Spider-Cat's finishers).
