It's as good as they say, I don't think I have more to add.

I'm ashamed to have taken so long to review this gem of a game.

It's a very neat package; real good use of a lazy weekend evening. It's detailed in all the right areas and tells an interesting story with a lot of character. It was very memorable and well worth the price.

Right, well, I quite liked it! First of all it didn't wear out its welcome, but is a rather neat little package that you can finish in an evening. The sound and music is very good, and the graphics are sleek with good art design. The overall atmosphere was nice and I liked the worldbuilding.

I actually enjoyed the system of interacting with your partner through photos (something other reviews have critizised). It could be janky, but overall there was a lot of commentary and it was decently written.

As for puzzles, they were hit or miss. None of them were super difficult, but some could be annoying. I consulted a walkthrough for a few.

In closing, a charming game that the developers can take pride in, and that's worth your time.

It's a return back to classic puzzle games, which don't necessarily respect your time and demand a lot of patience. Be thankful you don't need to swap discs nowadays!

On a more serious note it's a beatifully rendered world, full of creative choices, with great ambience, music, and sound -- with pleasantly corny live action sequences, and most importantly -- good puzzles!

EDIT after beating the game:
Well, I should probably have beaten the game before reviewing it, although my original thoughts still stand. I have a few grieavances, but overall my experience was positive and I still recommend playing it. After my run, however, I would recommend consulting with a walkthrough whenever you get stuck for too long.

Near to the end, the puzzles become very logic-based, as opposed to the "exploration-and-progression"-style puzzles up until that point. I felt they became a chore, and hampered my progress. Indeed, this is where I initially left the game for a year and a half.

After playing again, I used a walkthough for this part, and felt better off for it.

Another thing is the ending(s). I think this game is too long to have multiple endings, of which some are negative, considering you can't save manually. You need to back up your save! A real disappointment to some people to end their magical journey on a downer without the ability to re-do, I'm sure. I looked up the endings and got spoiled.

A few poor design decisions in the final run, I'd say. But again, overall a very creative, (mostly) relaxing and refreshing experience.

A very good game, I thought! I certainly recommend playing it if you liked the first one.

Likeable protagonist and fairly well-written characters who you could grow to like or dislike. Some really tense and atmospheric story beats. Very good worldbuilding.

I thought the gameplay was well executed and flowed nicely. Not so much moon-logic after all. Sometimes the regular point-and-click gameplay was interrupted by actual puzzle-puzzles. I didn't much care for those, but you can actually skip them if you want.

Good graphics and sound, a lot of attention to detail (sounds when people put stuff down etc. -- things even AAA games often miss!). TONS of really nice animation work! Good lighting and atmosphere.

I played with Russian VO and English subtitles. I appreciate that was a possibility.

All in all -- can't wait to get a conclusion to this story!

A very neat, atmospheric game with a lot of soul and an interesting story.
I liked it a lot! The gameplay was slow-paced; a bit of a slice-of-life adventure.
Can heartily recommend for playing late a Friday night.

This game has stuck with me for quite a while.
Any VR power user (i.e. not susceptible to motion sickness) has to try this game out, I'd say. It offers unparallelled freedom of movement, which is really liberating. Climb, stack, and clamber your way through the -- at times, regrettably, a bit too linear -- levels.

It's FUN, and it actually almost works! Remember, this is still game physics. It's not going to be flawless.

Combat is fun, feels heavy and physical, even when using firearms. No complaints there. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Graphics are okay. The environments are not all that memorable, but they do serve their purpose, and they do have their moments.

The story... it's weird! I didn't really understand it while playing, but somehow it crept inside my head and remained with me after finishing the game. It feels well thought-out, I can say, even if it may be hard to fully grasp. Paired with the excellent soundtrack, it makes for a memorable experience.

Summarized: A must-try for all who can stand the movement.

Superb game!

Visually stunning, with great sound design and music to par.
Fresh and fun gameplay (platforming with some puzzle elements), and a intriguing world for you to explore on six legs.

Not too short, nor too long.

Kafkaesque? Well, a bit more playful than the source material, but faithful nonetheless. Obviously done with a lot of love. All in all a good adaption. The ending(s) left a bit to be desired for me, but in this case it was truly a case of "the journey being what mattered."

Verdikt: Heartily recommended!

What a game! I rarely feel like I have the time to "binge" games nowadays, but I couldn't put this one down; I played it in its entirety over a weekend.

It's a supremely well constructed "immersive sim" type of game, where everything feels reasonable, grounded, and well thought out. The graphics and sound are good, and the story and characters are amazing.

Prepare for some backtracking, difficult initial combat, and spouts of confusion. Stick with it. It's worth it.

Prey 2, PLEASE, Arkane!

A superb recreation of one of the best games of all time. Faithful to the original, but with improvements on almost every level. While it's still a source game, it's making the most of the engine, and has great visuals all things considered. Sound, voice acting, and encounter scripting are all stellar as well.

The recent addition of Xen especially shines in reimagining one of least enaging parts of the original game into something wonderful. It still drags a bit with excessive puzzles towards the end, but not too badly.

Overall, a great experience for old and new fans alike!
