Hexcells Plus is more of Hexcells. Is this a good thing? Well, yes, because that’s an almost objectively excellent logic puzzle game. Do I like Hexcells Plus? That’s a little harder to answer, because it being just more of a thing I like means that whilst I am obviously going to feel positively about it, I’m also probably not going to remember anything unique about this over the previous game, or the following game, or any other game with Hexcells in the title because it’s just more levels for the same game.

It’s a good game, don’t get me wrong, and these levels are at the same high standard of thoughtfulness and polish, I just don’t see this as having any real identity of its own. This is kind of like complaining that a second jigsaw puzzle just isn’t as unique as the first jigsaw puzzle I did because it’s still just a jigsaw puzzle and I’ve already done one just like it, so I do obviously recommend this game to anyone who’s a fan of any of the things that it’s about, because it’s perfectly executed and supremely well put together. Just don’t ask me to tell you which of these games is which in a few months’ time.
