After about 3 to 4 hours of continuous gameplay, I've beaten 4 of the supposedly 5 new bosses and just 1 of the challenge stages... yet I am only 22% of the way through the DLC according to my save file.

The developers are letting themselves be robbed by charging only $8 for this.

JUMP FORCE is a crossover fighting game, which pits various fan-favorite characters from the franchises of Shonen Jump against one another in full 3D, 3-on-3 battles. The game promises a lot, but unfortunately suffers from a multitude of problems. The online is tragically unstable, with yours truly going through countless disconnects when battling with friends. The repetitive nature of the game's single player content also isn't doing the game any favors. Not to mention, the now infamous lack of polish in the game's various story mode cutscenes.

With that said however, JUMP FORCE has much more going for it, then against it. The story mode, while dumb and repetitive, can be rather entertaining (unintentionally so at times, but still). It's an absolute treat to see all these characters, with their unique personalities and rich histories, interacting with one another, especially when hearing their original japanese voice actors. The character creation, while fairly limited, is quite fun and is reminiscent of Dragonball Xenoverse (a game I am very fond of). Speaking of Xenoverse, the combat in JUMP FORCE is very comparable to that of Xenoverse, and works just about as well. Its fluid, combos are simple to pull off, each character feels different, and (most importantly) hits feel satisfying to land.

The best thing about this game for me though are its visuals. I absolutely love the way JUMP FORCE looks. It may not appeal to everyone, but I think the realistic textures and environments look stunning. Its amazing to see these usually flat characters presented in such an impressive, three-dimensional way (though the look works better for some than others). The characters are all very faithful to their original designs, and their attacks are just as accurate. The particle effects in this game are also quite impressive, and give each move a lot of necessary flair.

While it is undoubtedly flawed, JUMP FORCE is still a very enjoyable experience for fans of Shonen Jump. It may be a little unpolished and rough around the edges, but it does just enough right to make up for its shortcomings in my book. If you're a fan of the Shonen franchises (or of any of the characters featured), I recommend giving JUMP FORCE a shot. If you're not, well... I doubt you had much interest in getting the game anyway.

This game is extremely fun. It has an amazing battle system and is an incredible expirence in both multiplayer and single player. It also features one of the most intriquate character creation/customization i've ever seen. If you're remotely interested in DragonBall you should definatly pick it up.
