I hate that steam only has binary recommend/don't recommend options. Ultimately I don't want to give it a thumbs down because it's a fun, pretty, optimized, and polished game with tons of content... if you pay the subscription. If, like me, you're willing to fork over, it's a great experience, but calling this game "free to play" is extremely dishonest bordering on false advertising. If you don't pay, you get:
- Track editor (only to make tracks, you need the subscription to play other people's tracks)
- 10 official tracks that rotate every 3 months.
- That's it.

I like this game, I don't really regret paying the subscription, it's probably a better monetization model than the standard live-service affair of battlepasses and FOMO stores, but do go into this "free to play" game knowing that the subscription is essentially mandatory.

I say without a hint of irony, this is a better and more artistically interesting game than The Witness.

Here to offset the really dumb people who think this game is unplayable because of the 60fps cap. it's literally fine, you probably won't even notice. this is a moba not csgo.

I enjoyed the first game. I thought it was a neat enough story and I really liked the characters and their interactions, but at no point did it ever really touch me emotionally. For reasons I can't really explain, this game hit a lot closer to home and made me cry, that's probably enough said in that regard.

In a more objective sense, Oxenfree 2 is a huge improvement over the first game, mainly in how you actually interact with it. Moving around especially feels a lot less clunky than the original, partly cause Riley seems to generally walk a bit faster, and because paths seem to be a bit wider so you don't get "stuck" as much. The dialogue mechanics have also been smoothed out a lot, dialogue choices stay on screen a lot longer and most of the time will be buffered once you select them and said once other characters finish their lines, so you're not constantly being forced to interrupt other characters and miss lines like in the first game.

Overall I really liked this. I can't be sure how much I can recommend this for someone who hasn't played the first game since I don't know of a way to unplay Oxenfree, but if you liked the original you'll probably like this.

Also, you can pet the dog. 10/10.

get it for the gambling addict in your life

gorgeous, thought-provoking, tons of fun. my only complaints are that some of the stars could stand to be a bit less pixel-hunting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the puzzles as a whole could stand to be harder. still, i'd consider this one of the best puzzle games ever made.

subject to change when the DLCs go on sale and i get to have a tolerable experience, but several technical issues like weird choppy aiming make this game basically unplayable without mods, and i found out the bad way that you can't really mod the game without owning all the DLCs. keep that in mind when buying it, get the ultimate edition or don't get it at all.

the single highest compliment i can give to a game is that it's outer wilds, the second highest is that this is the closest another game has gotten me to that outer wilds high.
this is a fantastic game with a gorgeous art direction, beautiful music, and extremely refined and elegant puzzles that's earned a spot in my all-time favorites. go play it.

claims to work on any RT-capable GPU, but my 6700 xt won't even get cinematic framerates

since the last time i played they made a big step toward the game being fun by adding a deathmatch mode. now all they need to do is delete the ak-47 and all will be good in the world
