Although I am down-voting this game, I do NOT think that this is a bad game. I enjoyed most of my time here. The new mechanics are really neat and add a whole new level of detail and complexity, the likes of which I haven't really seen in other racing games. There's a much stronger level of competitiveness and engagement to each race as each racer is responsible for their team's overall success. You have to work together to do well and the ways that you can do that give this game quite a bit of replay value. If you don't like playing in a team, you can play solo as well which isn't as fun in my opinion but it's good that it's there for other players.

However, despite my enjoyment, I requested a refund. The game has issues, but the biggest factor that made me request a refund is that horrible price tag. The game isn't worth full price, and it isn't worth that 10% off deal that I purchased it with. If the company were to reduce the game's price tag, I would switch this review to a positive right away, and re-purchase the game. If you're going to buy this game, 20-25 bucks is the price range I would pay for it.

In terms of the actual game's problems, I don't share as many as other people do. My main gripe with the game, which IS shared by many, is the pacing. The cars are too slow. Way too slow. Ever played Mario Kart? Remember what it's like racing at 50cc? That is the default pacing of this game. I've heard that the higher the difficulty, the faster the karts are. I do not know if this is true since I didn't have enough time to try it so I cannot confirm on that. Even so, Transformed was much faster than this, and I see no reason why this game should be paced slower.

My other issue is the collision. There were times where I had to really be careful how I land my kart. If I were to land it even slightly on an awkward angle, the kart would stop dead in its track or be slow for just for a brief moment before speeding up again. It may be brief, but it has an impact. There were times where if you were stopped, your kart would suddenly boost back into action. I get that this is a mechanic, but it feels so awkward and clunky, and if you're facing a wall or near the edge of a track, you'll find it hard to steer to safety.

Compared to Transformed, the driving doesn't seem as smooth at all. It's hard to explain it to someone who hasn't played it, but if you've played Transformed and liked the way the game felt, you'll likely not feel the same way about this game. As I said before, I don't dislike this game. The tracks are awesome. The music is great. The new power ups are much better than the Transformed power ups.

You get more of your money's worth with Transformed. However, if the price tag is reduced or it goes on a sale that isn't a measly 10% off, I would definitely recommend giving it a go and seeing if you like the feel of it.

i just dont want to get it because it has denuvo when sega recently removed manias denuvo because i thought they finally realized that denuvo was useless but now they think it protects their games which it doesnt and that annoys me

If you don't like what you see from gameplays then I would avoid it for the time being, or least wait for a significant price drop and try it out. You can always get a refund like I did.

The only problem I had with the wisps was distinguishing each one from their picture. In Transformed it was easy to tell what the power up was from the picture. These ones not so much.

when i saw the gameplay i was disappointed at the items theyre boring whisps which the whisps are awesome in sonic colors but in a racing game they look boring and uninteresting and i might skip this game also because its limited to the sonic universe which i like alot of the sonic characters but i just dont want to play a racing game just with sonic characters alone

Yes, the speed increases heavily when playing on higher difficulties.

Yes. I was unsure if I wanted to pay the discounted price until I realised if I played for under 2 hours, I could apply for a refund. You clearly didn't read my review.
