The visual style and music are fantastic. I don't have a lot of experience with souls-likes, but the combat in this game is really fun. I like the focus on rhythm / timing for crit strikes. Each boss I have faced so far has been challenging without being frustratingly difficult. I also really appreciate the local coop, and that when one player dies there are still things they can do to help out.

Translating each of the languages from context was very well designed and felt great. The other kinds of puzzles were a bit weaker. The story exceeded my expectations especially the last section.

As someone who always wants to go back and try every option in a visual novel, this game really felt like it was made for me.

Playing Tunic was one of my favorite gaming experiences in years. When I saw screenshots of the game and first started playing, it was easy to draw comparisons to other games featuring a hero adorned with a green tunic. However, the deeper I got the more apparent it became that this game is something different entirely. There is a varied assortment of items which can be used to tackle the game's combat and puzzles, but the most powerful tool by far is knowledge. The clues which are provided are often subtle or partially obscured in some way, yet with a keen attention to detail there is always just enough to grasp onto.

It may not be for everyone; the game doesn't hold your hand, or yell at you if you're making things unnecessarily difficult or tedious for yourself. For me though, getting to be stuck on something for a while just makes the final moment of realization all the more rewarding (even if some of things I was missing seem so obvious in hindsight). The puzzles also went so much deeper than I was expecting, even though I 'finished' the game I feel like there is still so much more for me to do before everything is solved and I can consider it completed.

As someone who loved the base game, and is a huge fan of both Anthony Rapp and Erika Ishii, I enjoyed the dlc a lot, however it didn't really match the bar set by the base game. Back From The Dead was a huge highlight for me and it was a cool twist to be able to raise and lower the intensity rather than pick a specific aspect. I wish they used the intensity options in other places as well.

In many detective games you can get spoiled due to there being a limited number of dialog options, or there being some other way in which your character makes a deduction before you as the player; not here! Having to fill in individual words to piece together my deductions made every solution feel earned. The overarching story was also super interesting and seeing how the vignettes for each case fit together was very satisfying.

This game is a masterpiece. Each world is beautiful. Somehow every single puzzle managed to hit the perfect balance for me, not being too easy nor too difficult, having mechanics that interact in powerful ways without ever being frustrating/confusing. And there were several points that were just so cool and mind-blowing I just had to pause the game marvel at it.

After I played through the game the songs were stuck in my head for days. I just played through the game again and all of the songs changed and some of them were completely different and now even more songs are stuck in my head.

The camera is one of the most innovative puzzle mechanics, and I can only imagine the technical marvels the developers needed to implement for it to function so seamlessly and with so much freedom. I also really appreciated having a smooth rewind system as opposed to quick-saves or having to reset a room completely. All the different filters and visual styles were also stunning.

However, I felt like it's missing a final act, like if portal 1 ended at the last test chamber and there was no escape sequence or glados fight. And breaking the simulation was really cool but then it didn't go anywhere, I wish something interesting happened in the 'real' world.

This was my first experience playing any of the Yakuza games and I was blown away by the depth in every aspect of the game, from the story and the fighting mechanics to the customization options for the toy cars in the pocket circuit racing mini-game. After spending 135 hours to 100% as much of this game as possible the next thing I am going to play tomorrow is Yakuza 1, and if that does not express how much I recommend this game I don't know what will.
