If anything, I don't think I've played a game where success and failure in combat is so much down to the player, than in KCD.
You're entitled to your opinion of course, I'm just not sure how you came to that conclusion.
I finished it when it was new and I moved on. I haven't even bothered with the DLC's

You people seem to be suggesting that just because you can adapt to a horrible combat system after many hours that it somehow makes the system better ? Hell, I could adapt to playing dark souls with my feet, doesn't mean it's a good way to play the game. It shouldn't be used purely because there are better options are available.
