This could be a great game, but for now its just pretty good.
TLDR - Its Anno meets Banished.

PROS - Core mechanics of balancing resources and achieving your expansion strategy is really fun. The research trees are quite expansive. It is pushing forward with some unique elements and has lots of potential.

CONS - The UI is pretty poor and visual assets are inconsistent in aesthetic and levels of detail. The AI is so useless I just play without it so it doesn't take up space. Import/export management is just not well thought out.

TIP - I found playing on Brutal difficulty once I had the basics made it more engaging, because the stakes for balancing got real and I had to take it slower and pay attention to details that didn't matter on Normal.

I heard this was good and was happy to find it really is.
First run was challenging and had a good skill progression. Second time round its pretty easy and fun to win handily. Can't see I'll play it much after this but I've enjoyed the mechanics and design.

Tried it a year ago but didn't get into it. On this attempt I restarted a couple times as I figured things out, then had a much longer and more rewarding game. I would now say it's one of my favourites. The UI and mechanics are original and well constructed and there's layers to the strategy and story that keep you engaged.

Took me a while to figure this game out, but well worth it. Tons of fun and very challenging.

Beware, you haven't known crushing despair until you've played this.
It's actually a pretty amazing game, beautifully designed with an innovative combat system.
The difficult choices you make are the defining feature. It does really well at building connection with the characters, then forces you to make decisions that can have gut-wrenching consequences. The plot twists are frequent, unpredictable and unforgiving.
I'd heard mixed reviews, so didn't try it out until a sale. There's some valid points made against it, but overall its a well polished game especially for the price. It's worthwhile just as a really beautifully told story, but the turn based combat is fun and challening too. I hope they add DLC or a whole new chapter.

Was a fan of earlier versions, but this one takes everything in the wrong direction. It's too graphics intensive and loses the highly responsive arcade style that made it fun. Oh and the music will make you stab yourself in the ears.
