Maps: by design they're not balanced, why? Because Gaijin wants the maps to be "realistic" even if that means that some maps are pretty much unplayable at times. Some maps have direct line of sight between your spawn and the enemy's spawn, or straight from the control point to the spawn, allowing for some pretty bad spawn-camping against which you can't do anything (spawn protection lasts 10s and gets cancelled if you fire your gun), fun and engaging design.

Vehicles: Hands down, the vehicles look and feel great, there's a lot of attention into the 'graphic' aspects of this game.

Vehicles part 2: The rating of these vehicles is however completely insane and is part of what destroys the game, the Battle Rating is assigned to a vehicle solely due to how players perform with said vehicle (which also can change, rarely, depending on Gaijin's mood), this means that it's a sh*t-salad with mixed vehicles from different eras fighting stuff they would've never even dreamed of with all of the technical mismatch that follows, a Leopard-1 fighting a ww2 russian IS? Why not, it's bound to create a balanced match.

Economy: The other major part that destroys this game, the in-game economy is among the most predatory that I've ever seen, it's gotten so bad that A LOT of the higher tier matches have a good couple of premium vehicles in them (around 50/60€ of vehicle each) just so that people can actually keep playing without losing in-game credits, either that or buy the premium account for X days which increases credits and research points gained. This however creates a whole different problem, in order to NOT lose credits each match some players leave the game after getting destroyed *once* (you can have up to 5 vehicles in the lineup and spawn at least 2/3 times without doing anything), which coupled with bad map designs means that often times the match is already decided after the first wave of vehicles because those that do stay and try to fight it out WILL end up losing credits for that match, the higher you go the worst it gets. In order to break even you have to do better than like 50% of the team, which means the other 50% is going under, what happens to those players? They're forced to use lower tiered vehicles, or they buy premium vehicles or premium account to offset the losses, see where it's going? It's not even the player's fault at some point, just because their WW2 rusty ahh tank just got blown up by a laser-guided anti-tank missile from 2 kilometers away by some cold-war era hybrid tank.

Still, people play this game, why? Because there's nothing quite like it, the only realistic competition that they have is WoT and that's a completely different game even. So do yourself a favor and don't start playing, otherwise you will be coming back to it every now and then to scratch that itch and you will regret it every single time.
