I want to like this game so badly, but its just so crap. I was trying to play the campaign on the second highest difficulty and this game is just so f*****g crap. Being unable to split units into different stacks like you can do in homm games makes this game feel very limited. The building system in settlements is so confusing and dumb. The magic system is very limited. The artstyle of the game is good, and the pixel art for each unit great, but this game is not fun to play. In the campaign you have to skip fighting random groups of enemies guarding treasure, because you have to hold onto every unit because you're not able to build any new ones yourself so you better hope the mission you're on just gives some new units to you. HOMM3 is just over 27 years old at the date of this review and that game is a million times better than this. The replayability of HOMM3 is unlimited. Songs of Conquest has no replayability and there is only one playstyle and its very narrow and boring.

The only thing this game does better than HOMM3 is the art and the animation. That is literally all. Songs of Conquest is a horrible game, and the devs could have done so much better. What the hell were they thinking with some of these stupid features?
