* UPDATE: The developer has reached out and told me that I accidently received an audio commentary version of the game meant for some Kickstarter backers. Whoops!
Without the commentary at the end, I do think I enjoy this game a lot more! I still have issues with the end BUT the overall experience was wonderful and I would recommend it.

Alright, this game was something. I enjoyed most of it! Up until the final chapter and ending... There are no spoilers for the story in this review.

The art, voice acting, puzzles and writing (up until the end) were FANTASTIC!

However, let's first lets talk about the lack of settings for this game. The only place you can choose your language is as the game boots up into its opener but you can't just skip the opener and go to a settings menu on the main menu (like most games). There is no settings menu unless you are playing the game, and even then, there is no language select in the settings. So if you skip the opener that has the language select, the game defaults to German and you have to close and re-open the game to change your language. There is also no different screen settings. You can't force fullscreen the game without it changing its size to be super weird and only on the right side of the screen in fullscreen. You also can't change the size of the game window at all or it will also break and only appear on the right side of the window. This means that no matter what, at least on my system, that the bottom portion of the game will be cutoff by your systems taskbar. * These could have been an issue with the copy of the game I was given, i'm not sure

Back to the game itself, the puzzles at the end were very convoluted and while a lot of older point and click's feel that way, it only started showing up on my second session. Puzzles were WILD and I just had to give up and look at a guide.

I'm just not sure what happened at the end. It feels like it was rushed and thrown together, leaving a lot unexplained. The ending came up very quickly and was a huge letdown. I feel like more could have been done with all the other characters that you're given earlier but they were just thrown away, not to be seen until the final cutscene.

* It truly gets very weird after the final cutscene though. The developer record scratches and comes in to talk about the game before the final credits roll and they kinda trash on it. Calling the ending and parts of the game "cheesy". Which, ok, cool but do you have to go through this right now? Right after the ending? It's not like I had any option enabled for commentary, it just happens, and they go on for way too long. Their opinions on their work are fine and valid but this is not something you should do at the end of your game. Put it as a new option to listen too after you've completed the game at least. You can skip through the developer dialog by clicking through it but it shouldn't be forced in there to begin with. Listening to them go on and on about how some parts of the game are silly or cringe don't fill me with positive emotions after finishing the game. I was already surprised and confused at the ending, I didn't need to hear your issues with it right after. Give me some time to think, dog.

Again, I really enjoyed this game and was excited to go back to it and finish it, but I kinda wish I never did. The final chapter, ending, and degrading forced commentary killed this game for me.
